The fact that my school has school-based-therapist says a lot about what we're going through. Most of the teachers are nice (keyword: MOST), but i've seen people lose their minds to a borderline violent extent, and by the time i got to my 2nd semester final for chem last year, i didn't care what i got, as long as i made it out alive and sane

Funny school story: One day during our lunch break, me and my friend were talking in the hallway and another one of my friends decided to run up to me, slap my a$s and run away again. Well, she slapped me in the ass but ran away but when she did, I turned around really fast, (to kinda hit her but not really) and say “You F***er” but to my surprise MY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL was standing behind me walking out of a different classroom and I had almost slapped her and ended up saying “YOU FU-.. I almost said something very not school appropriate, haha” and it was the most awkward moment of my life BUT THE BEST PART IS She said that it was Okay and gave me a HUG CAUSE SHE THOUGHT SHE DID SOMETHING. I love my school and I will always respect her for that.

One time at my English class a classmate tried to put the empty bottle to the school trash bin, the teacher however was annoyed by that (due to how slow the teaching progress was and how unenthusiastic our class was) and tried telling the classmate to stop it. Some of us responded among the lines of “where are we gonna dump it anyway? The floor?” The classmate eventually put the empty bottle to the trash can but the teacher had the student go “on reverse” by picking the bottle up back from the trash can and walk backwards back to his seat. I am in awe

4:46 As someone who is homeschooled whose sister was also homeschooled and graduated a few years ago and is the same way, we don't end up the same type of "weird" as public school kids do. We are usually pretty down to earth and stuff, but we end up with EXTREME social anxiety and awkwardness. I mean you see memes all the time about social anxiety, and those are coming from public school people who see other kids their age like every day, and now imagine that but you never see anyone your age except every few years or something. We end up "weird" as in having issues in a social environment, but not "weird" as in the same way public school students are.

I’m sorry your friend has to deal with that. I’ve got mild sensory issues, and even those suck. Has she tried earplugs? There’s some nearly invisible ones called Vibes, that I use. I’ve used them loads and only had them be noticed (or at least commented on) once so far. They do a decent job of lowering volume, and are very good at eliminating background buzzing (like air conditioners) and taking the edge off sounds.

During my time attending schools, I have noticed a disproportionate amount of grammatical errors in texts from English classes compared to every other type of class that I have experienced. It is absurd, just as English being required every single year in primary and secondary schools, and then also being required in post-secondary is absurd. Speaking as someone who started watching anime in the 80s. I was never bullied for watching anime, back in school. I however was bullied for watching cartoons (all animation really, I love it all) in general. It wasn't until I was 21 (I had just moved, so I remember the year well) that I first started getting hit with the 'chinese cartoons' insult. But even then it falls into the category of talking trash about cartoons in general. Even when the context is explicitly anime, the complaint is always about cartoons, not just anime.
