Tamika was one of my favorite parts of the whole movie. The encouragement he gave her immediately, the excitement he showed her, the absolute understanding- this is my far my favorite "family/ kids" movie of all time... Also, I have a "Summer" of my own 😂 She packs for things days in advance, makes lists, loves homework, and assigns ME chores 😒 But she's also the sweetest, kindest 10 yr old ever

The funny thing about watching this as an adult is I know all these bands/albums that he's referencing. When I watched this as a kid I had not even started playing guitar yet.
Wonder what that one CD was that he never gave out. He handed out Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Yes, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd. Couldn't make out what the other one was in that stack.

They should have made this into at least a trilogy like the Pitch Perfect movies. This could have been a whole franchise like Fast and Furious. Guess you really can't do that with a mostly underage child cast... The insurance must have been half the budget.
@trequor Жыл бұрын
On the other hand the rest of the movie is dirt cheap to make. There are like 3 sets and a very small adult cast. Almost no special effects or expensive location shooting. The budget was probably like 33% insurance, 33% Jack Black, 33% everything else.
@cornelionsqween8028 Жыл бұрын
@@trequor fucking love feedback from someone with an actuaries brain. This should have been a franchise, but I'm guessing the contracts with that many child actors was just an untenable situation considering the budget. Their agents were all, they're movie stars now. Show me the money.

Going "franchise" would have been the wrong thing. It would have just ended up like so many other things, milked to death. Why not leave it at that one GREAT movie, we all love and we can not see enough of ? And the essence of the story is already here (more movies = unnecessary subplots, etc.)
