I like how this show will combine an absurd plot, with a reasonable, true-to-life subplot. combining true entertainment with a message, is a fine line that a lot of kids shows completely fail to achieve.

As a janitor myself I find Gordy so funny! You and I both know the only reason he’s so eager to do the atomic flush is because he plans on letting the poor night guy clean it up for him. I on the other hand have no such night guy lol.

It’s really good to have someone who has experience about school laws and see it on a different point of view. And even if this (and so many episodes to come) are more into the comedic aspect, it has a balance of giving good advices, that funnily enough are useful in real life

20:00 There's actually a fun episode where the principal is set to retire because of his senility and the kids try to stop the Vice Principal from taking his spot at all costs because of how much he already runs the school with an iron fist. Basically, he acts like a kid playing bad cop while hopped up on caffeine.

20:08 The vice principal doesn't show up until season 2 episode 5 (Vice Principals & Mondays), and the principal doesn't until season 3 episode 2 (Reading & Principals), so they're both still quite a ways off doing half episodes each week. At the current pace you'll reach the introduction of the vice principal around mid-July, and the principal around March 2025 (and finish Ned's sometime in December 2025). You'll definitely want to keep going in order and not jump ahead though, there starts to be a little more of a connective story between episodes in the later seasons. I'm sticking around for the whole series, there's so many good Ned's episodes, always love seeing these pop up.

@Lost4ever74. What episode listing are you looking at? According to TVDB, TMDB, and Wikipedia's lists, "Vice Principals and Mondays" is episode 5. Episode 7 is biology dissection and upper classmen.

@Lost4ever74. You don't know how Wikipedia works if you think any incorrect edits would stay without being reverted or corrected, but that also wasn't my only source - I also listed TVDB and TMDB. Even if you got it on iTunes, S2E5 on AppleTV is the vice principals one and e7 is dissection. It's the same on Paramount+, KZbin TV, Roku, and IMDB. The only platform I've been able to find with vice principals listed as e7 is Prime Video, but even on Prime Video, it shows the original air dates as being out of order in their listing - the other platforms have the air dates in the right order. Netflix also has it slightly out of order with vice principals being e6, but every other platform I'm able to find it on has it as e5 in the proper air date order - for whatever reason, Prime Video and Netflix randomly throw the valentines day episode in before the vice principals one even though the air date for it is like 3-4 months afterward, and the Prime Video listing flips the order of vice principals and procrastination, making it even more wrong than the Netflix ordering according to air date.

Man, during my days in middle school, rumors were such a big thing back then. This was before social media too. Once bad rumors start, the students did not properly behaved and would make fun of others and get into fights rather easily. Basically, if you weren’t a bad kid, you would be unpopular. Rumors did not help at all. They always led to bad things so for me I survived by simply ignoring it and not being involved in rumors. Hopefully today, that school has better management and the students are properly behaved, but back then, it was rough.

It’s still difficult because rumors are almost impossible to stop. However, they almost always fizzle out as kids lose attention and move on to the next thing…

High school rumors are the worst. Kids can be so mean. I remember in HS someone spread a rumor that a friend of mine made a "threat" to the school in response to a very private video of him going around. The police got involved and everything. And he would never do anything like that. And what's worse is the rumor starters face no consequences because no one wants to "snitch"

I think I remember Captain Underpants poking fun at something like that rumor about flushing all the toilets in the school. The only real difference is that it involved flushing something down the toilets, not just flushing them all at once regardless if they were empty or not.

I always wonder as a kid if this atomic flush really works in real life? Never seen it happen before and I just have image of how it would work. I can call myself for starting a school rumor a long time ago. (In my case, it wasn’t just a rumor; it was an urban legend.) Back in seventh grade, I saw some kids standing on top of a storm drain. (Back then, I didn’t know they were bigger than the concrete holes beneath them, so I didn’t know it wasn’t likely for anyone to fall in unless the concrete beneath the grate was unstable.) I warned them not to stand on the grate, and when they asked why, I created a twisted story about the sewer lines beneath the school emptying into a boat graveyard littered with huge ships that had been sunken and plundered by a dangerous monster that could bloat to enormous size and crush people like walnuts. It spread like wildfire, and before long, I’d commonly see people crowding around that storm drain and talking about the “monster” I said they could potentially face if they stood on top of the grate.

The only legitimate instance of students getting access to the school radios (or intercoms, actually) I’ve ever heard of is this one program we had when I was in elementary school called Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) where students could invite their fathers to visit the school as authorized volunteers (except on closed campus dates, such as for state-administered testing), and the principal would give the students related to the day’s Watch D.O.G.S. brief access to the school intercom solely for the purposes of introducing their father to the public. It was sort of like an inverted equivalent of “Take Your Kid to Work Day” for most offices.

In many Latin American countries it is not strange for students to become friends and chat from time to time with the janitors... and cooks and teachers too. My older sister used to manipulate her physical education teacher into not exercising.

The “entirely made of wood” rumor is very weird. I have seen people with prosthetic wooden legs (they’re uncommon; more often, I’ll see some that look like robot parts), but none that look like that, and contrary to popular belief, George Washington’s dentures were *not* made of wood. Imagine Pinocchio trying to work on maintenance for his whole body, all by himself. If that’s the kind of thing those students are imagining, then I’d beg to know where they got it from.

I won’t lie I delt with some pretty nasty rumors when I was in school because of my epilepsy, kids started saying I was possessed not epileptic, and when I went to the principal she didn’t do anything she told me to just ignore it even though I was being called all sorts of mean names. I wish you were my principal when I was in school as you’d probably not only tell those kids to nock it off, but educate them about epilepsy.

I know rumors pretty well and how students spread them and say misleading things about those rumors in high school during my junior and senior year I was the baseball manager got to be good friends with the players helped with anything the team needed but during my senior year I confided in a few of the baseball players something personal because I trusted them and we got to be best buds and I did not think they would betray me but I live to regret it because the next day there was a rumor someone spread about me about something outrageous they think I did I did not find out about it until my teacher told me about it I was shocked that someone did this I thought I could trust them but like my teacher told me these guys were not mature enough to handle a secret and to know when to keep their big mouths shut I never found out who done it and I try to let it go but it keeps popping up every once in a while

School Principal Reacts, I have a question for you about the differences between school administration today versus in the 90s. At my high school in the 90s I wanted revenge on a kid who always teased me. We had a multimillion dollar computer network, including 2 million dollars worth of servers, the school gave us. My friend stole the master password list for all the student accounts from the librarian and we wreaked havoc deleting kids' homework and everything... Finally the assistant principal found out and yelled very loudly at me in the cafeteria during lunch and threatened to permanently ban me from the school computer systems. But I would expect a school to call the cops on a kid who did this, and they never did... so what do you think would happen today? What would you do differently about it?

It depends on how bad it was, really. A student who did that would at a minimum receive out of school suspension, possibly placement in an alternative school. The reality is that there are a lot of things that are technically chargeable, but very rarely get charged if it happens at a school.
