@@CHRISTIANNWO These situations are sometimes worse in job professions. Believe it or not, plagiarism or tampering with assigned work done by others is sometimes common even in local government departments. I've known some cases involving department heads or supervisors requesting special reports from their staff only to take credit for the completed work by personally submitting the assignment to their admins without ever acknowledging the staff person who work on it. In cases such as this, the deception can go as far, with the supervisor or department head requesting their staff to work on assignments that are not within the scope of their job task with the realization that the assignment task given to them was actually an assigned task given to their supervisor or department lead. Sometimes, a perceptive staff person will catch on to this. In situations such as these, it best to be alert.

Kuwabara has some heightened senses which makes him semi-aware of spirits which makes Yusuke able to do some things to Kuwabara, but not everything. It is sort like a bond between friends even when one dies and he is able to listen to him. I absolutely love this series because it has good characterisation in this show, as it gives each characters their own development. In Japan, there are strict on sort of things, but I think in their school, there are some things they can do which would get teachers and principals fired. Especially with the firing in Japan is not exactly the same as the US. Of course you can get fired for many things like in Japan, but when it comes to places like schools as most schools in Japan are private, they rather avoid firing teachers because if parents and the school board hears about someone getting fired, the school values prestige and if there is a bad apple being fired, parents will likely remove their students to another school with their money. Reputation is everything. Likely the principals and teachers would chastise one bad teacher to fall in line, so they don't have to resort to firing. I am not a complete expert of Japanese hiring and firing system, but that is the best I can explain from learning about their culture

This episode reminded me of a small scandal that happened at my school. The Top 10 placements were switched around. The student who was intended to be number 10 was suddenly dropped down to number 11, replaced by the student who was the son of the attendance keeper. Plus, number 1 and number 2 were swapped. These swapped places were held during the graduation ceremony, along with yearbook photos and a Top 10 banquet. We know they were swapped because when everyone got their final grades after graduating, everyone was back to where they were. And nothing in their grades would suggest the placements shifting like they did. A lot of staff from that school also left after that year. Not necessarily changing grades, but falsely reporting them

I'm glad you enjoyed this episode. The only time I've ever heard of student exam grade tampering was in college. Aside from that, report card grade tampering was fairly common among the kids I went to school with. This was of course during the mid 90s in which certain schools issued report card grades written in pencil and handed it out via scanned fill-in sheets. To the best of my knowledge, certain times teachers would find out about the student report card grade tampering was during parent-teacher conferences regarding a student's poor academic performance in class in which the student's parent would bring up the topic of their child's report card to the teacher which eventually leads to the truth coming out about the falsified grade report done by the student. These circumstances were quite embarrassing for the parent.

23:52 its both an emotional state and thought process, in this example both; were mad at the teacher and thought of beating their way out of the situation but Yusuke thoughts were able resonate with Kazuma's emotions, and Kazuma as a character is "psychic", and can feel the "spiritual world" better than most people in this anime, without training. I believe Yusuke did stop his punch but than he felt the emotions in Yusuke's words and thought of his friends, thus understanding what was said, enough at least...

Something I think you missed is in episode 2 where they have a wake for Yusuke. Kuwabara shows up and it’s really emotional about how much he actually cared about Yusuke as a rival saying how he needed him to fight and is crying his eyes out while his friends try to calm him down. The two nasty teachers are also at the same and start saying terrible things about Yusuke but then get reprimanded by the principal. The principal then weeps as well asking why Yusuke didn’t stay at school because he could have been such a great person, showing that the principal tho stern did really care about Yusuke as well.

Yugioh has a similar scene which was edited for the dub to the job requiring employees be 18. This incident actually results in Kuwabara coming to enjoy studying. He improves his grades and gets into a good high school (they have entrance exams in Japan), saying he'll be a scientist. After later events in the series essentially give both he and Yusuke PTSD, Kuwabara turns down a chance for some street brawling, saying to his friends "there's more to life than rubbing punks into the pavement." Yusuke never resolves his student dilemmas and doesn't go to high school (which isn't compulsory there). Keiko's parents own a restaurant and given his home situation they probably taught him how to cook from an early age. He opens a ramen stand after leaving school.

When I was in 3rd grade I went on a two week vacation to Hawaii. My teacher gave me all the homework I would have for those two weeks which I did. When I got back I handed them in and the teacher graded them and gave them back to me. A month later I got my quarter report card which was an F. It turned out the teacher forgot to put the grades in their grading book and just marked them all as incomplete and thus a 0. When I told them that I had handed them in the teacher said there was nothung to way could do since they couldn’t remember what grades they actually gave me and wouldn’t put random grades down for the homework without proof from the original papers. Luckily my step-dad was pretty strict about my homework and actually kept all my graded homework in his filing cabinet and was able to produce the original papers. The teacher still tried to refuse to change the grades but he went after them until they finally relented and gave me the correct scores which gave me like a B or something for the quarter.

You know, come to think of it, I remember an old Disney Channel movie about Ruby Bridges, who was one of the first black students integrated into the white school system in the south. I remember that the principal was not supportive, and upon hearing that she did so well, the principal said she was going to lower Ruby’s grades. The claim was that she was essentially tutored, so the grades were not accurate. This was shown to be false by Ruby’s teacher, who said that she did all the work on her own. the reason she appeared to be tutored was because so many white parents pulled their kids out of the school rather than letting her share a class with them. I forget the name of the movie, but I would recommend reacting to that.

Love this anime. Your reactions were fun to watch. There's probably a few things here that are more applicable to a school in Japan than the USA. But I doubt grabbing a teacher by the collar or tie would really fly much of anywhere. Sometimes when I watch these scenes I wonder if they are possibly less farfetched than I might ordinarily think though. This story was written in Japan in the 80s and everything points to this being an inner city Jr. High School in a particularly low income area. Yusuke's home appears to be an apartment, Okubo has multiple siblings under a single roof with a single mother who can't afford to care for them all... I don't know if you ended up watching episode 2 but you get a look at Keiko's living situation there too and her family runs a small restaraunt that appears to also be their home. I was privileged enough to never have these problems so it's hard to say if I think a school like this is really unrealistic without that kind of context in my life. I loved your commentary on it though and I do think Takenaka not interfering initially is most likely just a writing technique to build more atmosphere around the situation.

I am not sure it is the best method that Takanaka used to not confront them when they were erasing the answer, but in a way it can be viewed as seeing if both teachers would be dishonest. When the broad shoulder teacher does the erasing, the weasel toothed one is not really guilty of anything besides allowing another person to be dishonest. But when he follows through and gives the dishonest grade to Kuwabara, then he is as guilty and involved as the broad shouldered teacher.

Love this! Re: The working the student does and why the school could impact that. In Japan schools are given a far broader reach over what students do, especially since a lot of them work more like how private schools work in the united states, enrollment is highly conditional and even their enrollment is seen as association since the schools at the middle and high level do not have to take students. This means a great number of them, for one reason or another, only allow students to work after school jobs as an exception, and often you can't see them going to places in their uniforms after school that aren't school or home, they're expected to change clothes first.

Many schools in Japan are allowed to issue punishments for things students do off-campus or after hours, or both, and teachers patrol in, shall we say, known youth hangouts like arcades as such. If i'm not mistaken this is also a private school, which are numerous in Japan and can make a lot of their own rules, although it's interesting that such families can afford a private school. In Yusuke's case, his mother has yakuza connections, and the money is understandable in that case. Given the state of American public education it's reasonable to assume that you teach because you want to. In Japan, while salaries aren't much better, a teaching position IS considered prestigious and respectable, so it's not unusual there for teachers to care about reputation and prestige more than the wellbeing of the students. Also, most grading has a cutoff at 50% for pass/fail, mostly to raise the good students who get near 100 even higher. And then publicly release all their exam scores so the students are free to compare and shame each other.

You think it can't get any worse from the teachers, but you got to see the first half of episode 6. Something pretty gross happens. But atleast the principal for all his roughness his heart is in the right place and wants to see the best in people. But he shouldn't be putting his hands on people like he does lol.

I can respect principal takanamwa he doesn't let the bad teachers get away with what they do such as the false grading or removing test answers sure he may show a little tuff love he is better the amila from the misfit of demon king academy or everyone is actually. Granted she did get a redemption arch but as a teacher or as person in my book she might need to do a bit more to get away with what she did but at least she is on the right track. That aside another good teacher in anime would be koru sensei from assassination classroom.

Me too, but grabbing him by the chest was probably a little too far lol 😂
@muhammadnumair54829 ай бұрын
Well if look from the point of viewer we know the teacher was also being non professional so in that Sense mister takanamwa did the same maybe if he did something like punch him outside of the school hours that would be a bit better than grabbing your subordinate/staf members by the collar in the work environment.@@SchoolPrincipalReacts

heard japanese schools in the past or even now can be brutal, if i remember correctly, they still have corporal punishment
@TheJjcczzАй бұрын
I think the closest comparison I can make is America’s no child left behind policy where standardised tests affect government funding and things like that. In Japan a school’s reputation is everything, having a bunch of students that cause problems or perform poorly hurts the school’s reputation which is why those two teachers want those students expelled. In that same vein a teacher who erased a students answer would also hurt the school’s reputation. Parents will pull their kids out of a school with a bad reputation and the second that happens it creates a domino effect and the whole school goes under. Now we don’t see that teacher again after this episode so it’s safe to assume that he quietly left the school to save both parties reputations As for the teacher making deals and his I have the power comment. Home room teacher’s in Japan are a lot more involved in their students lives to the point where they’re almost like a second guardian after the parents As for the physical violence, Corporal Punishment was really only made illegal in Japan pretty recently in 2020. Even now there are still tons of stories from western teachers teaching in Japan about Japanese teachers slapping male students or slamming them against a wall and yelling in their face. That’s just the stuff happening now after it was banned, this show is set in the 80s so teachers hitting students would be totally normal. A student grabbing a teacher would still get then in trouble, but not as much as it would outside Japan

If I'm not mistaken In Japan for a student studying has to be the absolute primary focus for that individual. This This is a more strict And structured way of learning even if it's stricts Individualism, The best example in the US you can think of is the military, How they have to wear uniforms And obey higher-ups for example In Asian schools You can think of Is a person in a lower grade (underclassmen)showing respect to a upperclassmen (higher grade) There is also the teachers have to be strict.. In Japan a student can get a job with the school's permission or they have to drop out first. As for punishments in Asian or Japanese schools Don't get me started on the punishments. Just Is cultural difference. In a kinder way of saying The uniforms represent uniformity, unity And representation of the school.

It's strange. As a mostly A and somewhat B student, I never gave the Principal much thought. Sure, I've seen them around, but I never really interacted with them. If anything, I had more interaction with the Vice Principal and lower. That's not to say, I thought less of the Principal, but I just felt they were so detached from everything. Granted, word of the superintendent felt like the auditor of the school. Word about them, and it felt like giving them a remotely bad look would get you in trouble. All the same, I never really had much interaction with school administration. Maybe because I earned decent grades and exhibited decent behavior? Regardless, I have to wonder how much interaction any student should have. Not to say that I missed out, but I am curious, haha.
@SchoolPrincipalReacts7 ай бұрын
I think this happens with a lot of students. Many principals have the most interaction with the best students in the school and the worst students. 😂

Your channel is very interesting. Thank you for the fun video. This is 3 months late but I just ran across this video and thought you might like a little insight in case you check out more anime. Japanese schools have different rules, cultural norms, and fundamental rules than American schools, even American schools operated Within Japan. That being the case, Japanese culture is very much founded on the idea that the school plays a large part in the students' lives, even during after school hours. Therefore, the idea of "The nail that sticks up is the one which draws the hammer" illuninates how The Japanese resist individualism. They strive for sameness and the schools exemplify this attitude. For example: - Students are generally required to wear uniforms and there are typically strict rules about appearance. This includes hair length and style, type of jewelry that can be worn, and other changes a student may want. There is an anime series called "The 12 Kingdoms" with a female protagonist with naturally red hair. Throughout her time in school, she and her parents are pressured to dye her hair to a more traditional color despite knowing it's her true hair color - Students aren't only responsible for keeping themselves and their school neat and clean. They are also required to keep up their grades and have at least one club they participate in. Wearing street clothes or subpar uniforms are a no no because it's considered disrespectful. - Saving face" is important in Japanese culture because pride of country, culture, and people is a useful path to respect, peace, and unity. This includes showing the proper deference and respect, which is why several of yuteachers have a dislike for YuYu Hakusho. He doesn't listen well, talks back, and refuses to wear the proper uniform. Also, if something goes wrong, scapegoating often occurs. This is seen in the first few episodes of "Naruto" as well as a story arc in the middle of "Bamboo Blade". In Naruto, the main character's behavior causes his teachers, classmates, and many people in his village to dislike him and put him down. In "Bamboo Blade", the students on the school's kendo team are forced to request the captain of the team to resign wjen two previous members get into a fight off campus in a video gaming room. - And Japan has different rules about school and working. Many schools forbid students to work. They believe it's an unnecessary distraction. On the other hand, Japanese education doesn't require that students to stay in school beyond middle school -- which I believe is still in place. This is clear in the way Yusuuke's mother told him to either stay in school or get a job.. Students can also go to any school within a certain distance from their house instead of attending the local in their immediate area. In "Ace of Diamond", two students attend a specific school in order to play baseball. In another anime, "Food Wars", the main character has spent several years helping his father run the family restaurant. The MC becomes highly skilled in cooking, so he ends up going to a specialty school that focuses on the culinary arts, where the anime takes place after the first couple episodes. Again, it's been a while since I studied this topic, so things could changed. so. There are plenty of videos showing both American and Japanese students talking about their experiences in school. The American students talking about their Day At School will also be of Great interest for you. If you would like to have a few suggestions, I'd be glad to do that for you

Wait...teachers making deals with students isn't right???? Oh God my whole school life was really wrong. we all hated that kind of stuff but it was supposedly the only way to get the "trouble makers" to behave. They got special privileges by just following the rules but the good students didn't get anything by being good.

I didn’t like the first reaction, this one I at least like some of the insights. One I don’t agree with is there not being a place for this kinda violence, I argue it’s seldom warranted but when it is, the threat of bodily harm should be a viable scared straight method. Also, there are some humans, much like the scene in ‘airplane’, who literally need some sense KNOCKED into them.
