There was something about the college based films from the 90's that are timeless. School Ties, With Honors, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting. They all teach important lessons and are all wonderful films. As for Fraser, I'm happy to see him making a comeback as he is still one of my favorite actors.

Although I actually liked 'Bedazzled' and 'George of the Jungle'. (hell, even 'Dudly Do-Right' had it's moments) But either way, I think he's actually doing pretty well for himself regardless, and hopefully we'll learn to appreciate his body of work a little more in time. =)

Some of my other favourite movies from Fraser are Still Breathing, Mrs. Winterbourne, Gimmie Shelter, Blast from the Past, Furry Vengeance (I know you are all going to give me shit for it but I love that movie so much and it's hilarious as hell) and of course his most recent performance in Killers of the Flower Moon.

I caught this film one night by chance. Not long after I had seen "California man" (as it was known here in the UK) . I remember it being really good. One of those movies you start watching late at night thinking you really won't pay much attention to it and go to sleep after awhile.... but it hooks you and you really have to finish watching 🤣 I remember thinking Brendan Fraser really can act!! Oh and back then I had no idea who Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were as I think everyone else did as they hadn't hit stardom yet .... but I think they were good. I'll have to watch it again now to judge.

Never saw? I have the film memorized. I always tear up when Sally lets David know that their romance is over. And it’s sad how the boys turn on him in the end. Damon’s character, Dillon, was from a Kennedy type of family where everyone was supposed to succeed. Although he got along well with David, Dillon resented David for being a working class boy with no connections upstaging him during football. David also hooked up with Sally when he knew that Dillon liked her, which fueled Dillon’s Jews Take Everything philosophy.
@kgat42949672962 ай бұрын
Charlie Dillon really tried to befriend David, but David just used that friendship to get closer to Sally. That's the real tragedy, that Charlie's friendship didn't mean anything to David. So David wasn't a good guy either. At least David could have asked Charlie if Sally is his girlfriend and tell him that she hit on David, but the way David acted, he betrayed Charlie. If David was a decent guy he would not have gone out with his friend's love interest and then maybe none of the following would have happened.

Thanks for doing this one! I loved School Ties when it came out, I still do, and I still have my DVD. Matt Damon is SO freaking GOOD in this - you absolutely want to kick the shit out of him. But he also infused his awfulness with an insecurity that I appreciate even more now. It's a nuanced portrayal of a villain and he nailed it. Anthony Rapp is great as well....god, you just *hate* him. Amy Locane is also really good. Affleck is unattractive and obnoxious even in his small role.

Blast from the Past is a movie so best and dear to my heart. Everything about it oozes that late 90s nostalgia for me. My mom, sister and I had finally been blessed with the ability to rent movies from Blockbuster and Movie Gallery(for those of you in the southeast) due to my mom getting her first credit card. Which, at the time was required for acquiring a membership. We picked this up on a whim one Friday night, and I fell absolutey in love with this film. It's probsbly just my own experiences with it that place it so high in my favorites list. Even so, if you haven't seen it, give it a shot! Especially if you love Brendan Fraser(which I'm guessing you do, since you're watching this video).

I remember watching this as a kid. So many people are praising Brendan for his performance in “The Whale”, which is good. Some of us remember Brendan in this film and we already knew that he had proven himself as a dramatic actor. A lot of us got upset that he wasn’t chosen to play Indiana Jones’s son and we ended up with Shia LaBeuf. Ugh!!! Hopefully this new film that he’s being praised for will get the ball rolling in having him return for another “Mummy” installment. He recently said he would like to do another film. There’s plenty of pyramids on this planet and not just in Egypt.
@ifyouonlyknew811 Жыл бұрын
Ford had the displeasure of working with him years later and Fraser never looked young enough to play his son.
