here in Canada I bought a Winchester sxp compact in 24 inch that fits me perfect for 300 gbp... it may not be a "proper" clay gun but it doesn't change my enjoyment on an afternoon outing with my friends ... and I have 1000 pounds in my pocket :)

Nifty. What would you suggest for home defense out of commonly available firearms in England? I am in the USA and prefer a handgun since it allows me to use my support hand for other things like opening doors, manipulating flashlights, or keeping hold of my child to keep him out of danger. Before that I kept an AR-15 handy since the 55 grain round tends to fragment after going through only a few interior walls unlike handgun rounds or buckshot which will penetrate almost an entire house. (Assuming US construction techniques, I understand things are built different on the other side of the pond.)

George FC Thanks for replying George, that is so sad. In my part of the world (the Southern United States) shooting an intruder in your home is almost looked upon as your civic duty and is encouraged by our local law enforcement. In fact I have heard people complain about intruders being shot, but not succumbing to their injuries due to the tax burden of their care, trial, and confinement. Here we do not have licenses to own a gun. All that is required is a clean criminal record and cash. Seems to work out well for us, most of the violence in the USA is actually centered in areas where there are restrictions on firearm ownership and use or large urban areas where violence would be prevalent no matter what form it took.

Aikibiker1 all due respect unlike the USA we dont require a gun to defend ourselves. It's genuinely that safe. You only need guns to protect yourselves from people with.... you guessed it, guns.

Capt Sealeg Our violent crime statistics (and yours for that matter, I studied both in university) do not bear that out. As a healthy adult male you or I may very well be able to defend against a criminal attack, however that changes as we age, if there is more than one attacker, or if the attacker has a weapon such as a knife, rock, hammer, cricket (baseball overhere) bat, etc. of course the same attacker you or I could defeat with our bare hands might easily severely injure our wives, daughters, or mothers. We call this a disparity of force in the US legal system and all the examples I have mentioned have happened (except maybe the cricket bat, I have never even seen one) and legally armed citizens have shot the attackers. So you see we use guns for defense against more then just other people with guns. We use them to defend against people that have apparent ability to cause serious injury or death regardless of what object they may have in their hands, or even if they have a weapon in certain circumstances. Please excuse the spelling ang grammar errors as I am typing on a mini tablet that makes editing difficult.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to use our sporting shotguns for home defense in the UK. It would make too much sense, give us too much freedom and of course our Orwellian government wouldn't like it. If I could have a home defence gun? Probably a pump action shotgun with buckshot, 18 " barrels.

George FC Nah, America's laws are just right, apart from the liberal hell holes like New York City and California.

they really dont promote the use of a 20 gauge....thats quite a shame. Im just getting into shotguns and my first shotgun that im buying in a few weeks is a 20 gauge and its the best gun for my body size and disability.

K obviously a disability is a unique case. They're talking generally for most adults

Thank you for sharing, highly appreciated.👍 But in Taiwan ROC 🇹🇼, there’s very strict restrictions laws of guns, cartridges & knives; absolutely no individual person is allowed to buy legal gun & cartridges for shooting, hunting, pest control, self defense; legally, privately & freely. Many people are eager to buy guns and cartridges, but all are prohibited! Absolutely no way! same as martial law implemented period; unfortunately some officials & anti-guns people asked tightening day by day, the extreme goal is absolutely no gun in civil, TV showed: gun is dangerous, terrible, sin; gun may kill people; gun will kill people; there’s gun, there’s criminal; there’s criminal, there’s gun; criminal rate getting highly due to guns; no gun is good; don’t touch gun! Up to now, I don’t know what’s logic? A lot of young people have no chance to touch guns, they are getting degenerated, except work, or some people are struggling to earn money for buying house or car; their favorite may be eating, drinking, something sexual, having drugs,..whatever; got many people are weak, getting fatter and fatter.

The first shotgun i bought, i bought online, a mossberg pump. I think finding a gun that fitts you is overrated, Learn to use the gun you have, practice! Ofc you may find a gun that is completely wrong for you, but most standard guns will fitt most avrage people more or less. what gun you have is not that important, how good you are, is.

neat video. i cant imagine dealing with the asinine gun laws you folks have to deal with and sort thru. its amazing to me what shooters/hunters have to go thru elsewhere. hopefully it motivates gun owners everywhere to fight for their rights.
