Tangmere on the S & C Steam Special at Carlisle 20 04 24

A glorious sunny day and two specials at Carlisle. We couldn't ask for much more.
A change from the usual venue. My thanks to Les, Michael and Colin for their company and assistance and to Colin for allowing me to use part of his sound-track to make up for a bit my camera missed.

It's a funny old spot to film at (thank goodness the owner's friendly) but it certainly does get us close to the trains!

Thank you. Unfortunately, most trains run rather too fast for the drone to easily keep them centre-picture - but I'm experimenting and hoping to find techniques to deal with the problem.

A lovely day out for us and very pleased to hear the sound dub worked out for you. I returned home on the S&C and it was bathed in sunlight all the way. A friend filmed the class 47 hauled train passing Kidderminster after it's long journey South.

Thanks again Tim , just curious at what point is the engine watered as It appeared to pass the waiting road tanker. Does the tanker move up to the engine or does it reverse back to the tanker.

Editing has removed it but there is a second tanker way up front, right where the locomotive stops. I can only presume that the tanker which you saw is intended for the coaching stock. I didn't spot the front tanker myself until getting the video up on my 32" monitor - the drone's control screen is too small to pick up such detail.
