Exactly. I always thought the same. Saying it is a "pessimistic" philosophy implies that there is a more "neutral" philosophy with respect to which Schopenhauer's philosophy is negatively biased. For me this is simply REALISM. I don't find what Artur expressed false at all.

I never realized that life is only suffering when I was a child I would suffer but not realize it as I get older and I look back at everything. I realized most of the time I’m not happy with school getting up early being off Saturday and Sunday, thinking work is Monday and that gave me suffering all the hard jobs trying to pay the bills The medical problems, my wife leaving me for five months, slamming my fingers in car doors, and now being old and only going to have Social Security to live on which is not enough I hate it life and I look forward to death

@@mussaramadan if there was no God, then it was not worth it. I’d rather have not been brought into existence and stay sleeping, then to be in a fetal position on my deathbed going into the blackness after a lifetime of struggle. But yes you’re right there are moments in life where it is joyful and I’m taking my cross and I’m going forward. Jesus says he will fold his universe up and make a brand new one made for happiness right now God is dealing with the Devil with man’s rebellion with sin as soon as that’s all destroyed then we will live the way God intended

@MMAGUY13 God is real the proof is the universe. This universe is marvelous made by a marvelous God. So we are a products of a marvelous God. The suffering is just one part of that product, and it's necessary, and Jesus came with a message from God to us, "minimize the suffering "

If you didn’t realize it, there probably wasn’t that much of it. If there was a lot of suffering in ones life, anyone would be able to notice it in themselves without any shred of doubt. I’m sure you’ve had good moments too.

Loneliness is a withdrawal symptom from contact with others (unconscious addiction). To be alone is the choice to deliberately withdraw from the company of others (conscious choice). It is the desire for interaction with others that leads to conflict and misery.

Not entirely. Contact with others is necessary for humans to survive. Contact with stewoid ignorant imbecils is what causes misery, individuals who should not exist if natural laws were obeyed, individuals who would have been eliminated from the gene pool through natural selection if humans wouldn't interfere and work so hard protecting the genetically defictive and mentally deficient, actually encouraging them to reproduce.

The glass half full/empty analogy is stewpid, incredibly so, intellectually dishonest. If the glass is half, it isn't empty or full, there is no context to determine more. The glass is just a container with some amount of something in it. Its all relative to intent. If the goal is to fill an empty glass it is half full. If the goal is to drink the contents, its half empty. This is the difference between a realist and a mindless monkey who just wants to mindlessly argue if one is a pessimist or optimist.
