Having so many jackets, I have realized that my 618 is the most comfortable jacket I have and is also warm enough for me with a sweat shirt underneath… I thought about selling it but I know I will regret it because it is just a practical jacket for me other than the belt. Man that thing can get in the way and scratch a dudes trans am lol. And you are right, that jacket can be worn with anything and still look good in my opinion and you are spot on man with your thoughts about this jacket!

In 2021 I purchased a 118, I tried the 618, but I have wide shoulders and it was not comfortable, but the 118 fit pretty good. In 2022, during Black Friday I purchased the PER70, the vintage faded look is awesome. The only complaint is that the leather makes a lot of noise when I wear it. So a week ago I rubbed some leather conditioner and the leather feels softer and it barely makes and leather squeaky noises. It always cool to see your videos. Keep on Rockin!

Great review! I have a 613SH and love it, indeed slightly longer but works well! Once the leather loses its shine and starts to break in, it looks amazing! A lot more character than the 613/613S I think (in less amount of time).

Nice to hear it! I’m looking to get one this year, compare em, and decide which to keep. Feel pretty sure it will be the 613s (or sh) but never know til ya try
@sendmeavision7 ай бұрын
Yeah definitely! I had a 618 from the 80s before and was used to the shorter length so took a while to accept the 613SH with its longer length. However, I must say, after a few months of wearing it, it has probably gotten slightly shorter due to creasing and breaking in.

Hey hey Duds, watching your video, I thought, omg a reincarnation of the "wild one" , Marlon Brando, is present,😂 hahaha...! - No, seriously I loved watching and listening to you. I agree completely to you, because many years ago I thought this perfecto type of leather jacket is not me. And now I practically don't wear any other leather jackets. I love the cool look, the feel, and because you can combine it with so many different types of clothing. When I was a young student I bought my first perfecto type leather jacket from the brand "Petroff", Paris, which looked exactly like the jackets, the Ramones used to wear on stage. At first I had to overcome my shyness and just wear it, not caring what somebody might say. The reaction of friends of mine was amusing, when they saw the jacket in my appartement. They asked me, if they may try it on, although I still remained the only one with this kind of jacket. So I always got positive reactions until now, where I reached the age an senior citizen. As I told you my Schott's perfectos are the 125 and the very rare 115, both beltless with cool side lacings. - And, so true, the USA brands like Schott's, Langlitz, Vanson, etc. these leather jackets are after my opinion the best ones qualitywise and considering their durability. And they are genuine, authentic garments, not like these fashion imitations from famous brands, which cost a lot more but lack authenticity and the real feel. - So I will also probably remain on to my death a fan of those, haha..! Great video, very helpful and inspiring. Go on rocking your jackets! Peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.
@DudsByDel7 ай бұрын
Yes I didn’t speak to it in the video but the idea of authenticity, and in this case how the original purpose of the jacket drives its function and features, is so crucial.

Got my hands on a 613s for a super good price. Was hesitating between the steerhide and the horsehide but ultimately choose the matte steerhide as I don't want the jacket to outshine me haha. I think it would fit you also really well, just be aware of the slim arms of the 613s, layering may be harder.
@DudsByDel7 ай бұрын
Good point about the arms, as slim ones do cause me trouble. Had to sell the ELMC Californian I got because of it. Still makes me even more curious about the 613s line!

I have a 613sh I picked up new from Schott, and a standard 613 from 2022 I picked up used in unworn condition. I thought I’d try the 2 models out and choose one to keep… gonna keep them both since I can’t decide which one I’d be willing to part with. Both are easy to layer with once they start to break in. I don’t find the slimmer arm holes on the 613sh to be restrictive at all. The sh wears a tad longer in the body of course, but that appears more subdued after break in, as the hide creases and draws up a bit. The hide on the sh is VERY stiff and shiny new, but after a 2 hour very wet motorcycle ride, once the jacket dried out, the jacket is leaps and bounds more comfy. The shine is also slowly relenting after just a couple of months owning it.

Love my 618 but man I gotta disagree with you on that map pocket. It's pretty much useless for anything but papers. I put my phone in there and it fell out when I bent over to pick something up. They should just put the same pocket they put in on the 118. Also if you have something thick in there it totally bulges and makes the jacket too tight around the waist if you have it zipped up. For as much as we paid for these jackets schott should put a proper inside pocket or even two. Maybe a gun pocket as well. Vanson does that.
@DudsByDel7 ай бұрын
Guess I never bent all the way over so it hasn’t been an issue. It’s held my phone, wallet, flask and a few other random things. Nothing too big though. Having a bunch of internal pockets can be practical though each does add its own bulk under the shell of the jacket.

Are you measuring your chest size with a soft tape around the largest part of your chest while wearing just a T-shirt?
