My new Schuberth helmet starts giving me serious headaches after 15 minutes...there are hard edges inside the pads which push hard into my skin....Schuberth says i had to fit the helmet for 45 minutes before buying, i think that's ridiculous and expected a higher quality product from this German company.

Had mine about 5years it is as hot as hell in the summer but my go to helmet for winter fall spring I leave my locks onpen on peak so I can move up an down in low sun quiet have just brought ls2 advent x carbon for summer loud as hell though but nice and cool in hot weather that said do love my e1

I had to remove the peak because it vibrated too much behind my windscreen and was too much of a distraction at any speed above 80kph .

I don't blame you. I have to set my windscreen to a very specific point for this to not happen to me as well. I'll be sure to include this in the review that I eventually make for this helmet. Meanwhile, my friend on his GSA does not seem to have the same problem with the tall windscreen.

Good review man. Would you buy another??

I already have actually! They're kind of hard to find though at the moment. I had to compromise on the colorway to get a new one.

Could you comment on using goggles more? Do the mechanisms of the helmet clog with dirt when used off-road? Thanks
@MotoCampAdventure6 жыл бұрын
I haven't honestly ridden dirt that much while wearing goggles with this helmet. I find that if I'm riding behind someone (which I usually am), they kick up so much fine dust in arid California that if I don't have my face shield closed then I'm breathing in that dust for hours at a time. For the sake of my own lungs, and for the sake of keeping the inside of my face shield clean for when I get back on the road, I pretty much exclusively use the face shield at this point. Goggles are great if you're leading the pack or if it's a really hot day on the road and you're not traveling super long distances. As far as that dust, mud and dirt goes, it's definitely gotten in the mechanism of the face shield and the sun peak adjustment mechanism. It hasn't gotten dirty enough to make it impossible to use anything, but it does sometimes make things more difficult to use. I just make sure to clean the majority of those things after a long ride to keep everything functioning. There's a lot of grease on the sun peak adjustment mechanism from the factory which has latched on to a lot of dirt, but a simple cleaning with some dish soap and a little re-greasing will fix the issue. I haven't had any mechanisms fail on me because of dirt riding, but bear in mind that I'm not riding my motorcycle like a 125cc dirt bike through mud. Think of this helmet like a road helmet with Adventure features. I hope that answers your question. Feel free to ask more!

I’m torn between this or the scorpion exo AT950. It has better field of view but this thing honestly looks like a freakin master chief helmet with the peak at the lowest position. Put an orange visor on it and BOOM cosplay achieved

It really does. I'm pretty happy with mine and do not regret spending the money. I do wish it had just a little more ventilation but honestly I'll take how quiet this is over the ventilation. I'd be lying if I didn't consider how badass this looks while helmet shopping haha.

I'm actually trying to move back home to san francisco and get into riding so maybe we will cross paths! I'll most likely be rocking the E1 too

Yeah man, let me know if you're back!

I see you've attached an external comm system on it. I thought that wasn't possible. Is it just glued on the outside or has some clamp grabbing the shell?
@MotoCampAdventure5 жыл бұрын
I used the adhesive pad on the outside, yeah. I think I actually used the 3M outdoor adhesive to remount this comm system to this new helmet. The lines on this helmet are a little odd and doesn't quite allow a low "3 o'clock" mount, but I quickly got used to the position and built up muscle memory to reach for the controls immediately when I need to. I think setting it slightly rearward also helped a little with aerodynamics. This system in particular is the Cardo Packtalk, and it's been generally pretty great for the 3 years I've owned it. The battery still holds a charge even after all of the daily usage. I would recommend one of Cardo's newer versions of this unit.

Didnt you just say NOT to raise the visor with one hand? And what did you do?
@MotoCampAdventure4 жыл бұрын
No lol. I said not to raise the sun visor (the one inside the helmet) with your hand/fingers because its cable actuated from the outside. There's a slide on the outside you move forward and backward to actuate it.

Thanks for the review very clear explanations. Do you think there wil be a new e2 version soon as possible because it is long time ago when this helmet is released
@MotoCampAdventure6 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking they will probably make an E2 based off of the C4 helmet eventually, but I'm fairly removed from the motorcycle dealer scene to know if anything is in the works at Schuberth. This helmet has been out for a little over two years I think, so I would give it a full year probably before they mention anything about a new E2.
