Tried this lid on today ! It is EXTREMELY comfortable & very light weight ! I wouldn't say it's a good looking helmet but it does feel a step above anything else i have tried on !

This, was a GREAT review! I just bought a new Shoei Qwest at the local shop, and yes, its seriously noisy, completely contradictory to what the salesperson told me = don't believe your salesperson, do LOTS of your own research. Nicely done.

Great helmet, agree with you on all points. For me the fit is absolutely perfect.

Is true Tony, I never closed my strap all the way cause it was to tight on my neck. And never crossed my mind to adjust that in order to be able to do that. What you say it seems very logical, I will try right now to see if I can adjust my helmet in order to be able to close my strap all the way. Thanks for advice, I will comment again with my results. Thanks Tony.

actually, i found out, if you don't click through all the way, the strap can be bothersome. Due to the insufficient padding coverage on the strap. however, if you slide/insert the strap all the way, its more comfortable, the padding would just cover the area. try it Andi...

Buyers be ware... I bought this helmet this summer, and it's noisy as hell. After some research I found out Schubert went down on size on the neckroll (2014 I think) to make it easier to put on/take of the helmet. If I compare images of the old vs new, it's a huge difference. At least for me I get crazy amounts of windnoise form the neckarea. Trying to get a hold of the "old" neckroll as we speak. If I can't get a hold of one, I'm buying a new helmet. It's that bad....

I agree - I just took mine out for the first trip a 2 hour journey - it must be the nosiest helmet I have ever worn.... Im going to have to sell it - I replaced a R1 which was very very quiet compared

@@andrewhurdle Got the old style neckroll, but still very noisy. Ended up selling it and buying a Shoei instead.

I purchase a Schuberth S2 helmet and would like to install a bluetooth unit. I don't want their SRC colar unit because I was told that it makes the helmet harder to put on and off and it's already very snug. I already have the Cardo G9x but the adaptors they include don't help. If I use 3m VHB tape to attach it I will not have access to the rear plugs for the ear spearker and aux. Do you know of any other system that fits the S2 besides the SRC? Thanks

Can you open/close the upper ventilation?

I agree the strap is not as comfortable as on the Shoei for example but for me the rest of the helmet makes up for it.

yeah...it felt better, extend both side of straps, however, just didn't feel like like the ol'double D rings... i guess that i how it is....i think its that extra piece of cloth, wraps over the strap (seems longer the Shoei or Arai) are the culprit of uncomfortness...
@AndiOliverI12 жыл бұрын
I've just tried Tony, is better no argue about that (I wonder why I did not think about to loose that strap in order to be able to close it all the way). But the comfort is still not there, I am not sure if I can explain correctly (English is not my native language), but is to... bulky right near to my adam's apple comparing to old fashion double D ring which as I remember was closing on my right side of the head. I do not know if I explained my self correctly, but there is to much under my chin

hey man great review, just a question though, how is the fit compared to the shoei? you still purchased the same size and still got that snug fit?
@mattmcmaniac7 жыл бұрын
I believe they were both size small. The Schuberth is more narrow but breaks in nicely.
@mrshllvhs11 жыл бұрын
Have you ever thought about hooking up a comm unit to it? I'm considering the schuberth src-s, but can't tell if it's worth the huge price for the more discrete integration...

what about rainy days? it's such a pain when you can't see a thing when it's rainy
@mattmcmaniac11 жыл бұрын
Yes, the price for that unit is high and I've heard mixed reviews. I'm still using hand signals, haha.

how did you like the chin strap? i found it little tight....any secret to loosen that up? i made all the slack it can have...still no go...hmmm...lol
@AndiOliverI12 жыл бұрын
I also do not like chin strap, it holds too tight, but is not quiet for me is noisy.

Even with both straps extended all the way?

Yeah I look ridiculous with this helmet on and wish they offered more shell sizes. Still a great lid though.

All helmets are noisy... I have the S2 and I have had two Shoei helmets and Bell helmets and Scorpion helmets and an Icon helmet...when air is rushing over any helmet they are all loud, there is no getting around it!! I haven't experienced one being any quieter than another in over 40 years of riding just about every kind of motorcycle out there. Moving through air is much the same as moving through water, air is a fluid (the name we give to liquids and gases that can easily move, or flow) and, generally speaking, most fluids behave the same way. If you want to speed quickly through the air, you're better off in a long, thin vehicle-something shaped like a plane or a train-that creates as little disturbance as possible. It's a great helmet, I love it, but I still wear hearing protection because of the noise created by the wind rushing over the helmet. This noise increases dramatically when I open the chin vent...and I mean DRAMATICALLY!! So I don't us it that much. The top vent flows tons of air and does and excellent job...I love all the other features as well!!

+zulu I had a SHOEI RF800 for years and thought it was quiet. I was in the market for a new helmet and my friend swore by Arai helmets. Said they fit better than anything he had ever tried. When I finally got to the dealership to look at the Arai helmet, I asked the guy behind the counter how it compared to other brands regarding wind noise. He said, "If you want quiet, drive a car" I kinda thought it made him sound like an asshole. I ended up buying the Arai because of the way it fit. Worst mistake I ever made. You couldn't hear yourself think. I think it was quieter not to wear a helmet. I recently bought a Shuberth S2. It is THE quietest helmet I have ever owned. Will never buy another brand. (I still have my old SHOEI and I wear it on short trips around town and still am amazed by how quiet it is, 15 year old tech and all!) At the end of the day, I guess we all are probably bothered by the same frequencies in a different way.

i don't know why one of the most expensive helmets and the one named as the most secure, has some cheap chin strap instead of the double d ring, even a cheap icon alliance ssr helmet has it :S
@whowhatwuh8 жыл бұрын
I know it's probably not ideal, but do you think this helmet could be used on the occasional track day? I'm looking for a good all-around helmet for both sport touring and aggressive riding.

I've ridden Sonoma, Laguna Seca and Thunderhill in this lid so yeah it works. A race helmet will provide a slightly higher field of view in full tuck.
