Schuberth S2 Helmet - Crash Testing

I love my Schuberth, and am heading to Germany too! :-)

Reading the comments it really shows that advertisements works. The S2 is good build quality yes, but it has crap safety. Look at the independent SHARP tests. It gets three out of five stars. What it is good at is low wind noise. That's pretty much it.

On the cyclists helmets must throw a load of 22.5 kilograms from a height of 180 centimeters. That's how bicycle forks are checked. Try to do it.

I'm buying an S2 in January, no doubt the best engineered bike helmet in the world. And I would love to marry the lady engineer doing the testing! But after the helmets leave the production side full of German engineers, they should go to a paint shop stocked with Italian artists. Every time I go to a bike shop, or surf one online I'm drawn to the awesome graphics on the Arai, and Shoei helmets. Schuberth are the best, but also the most boring helmets in the world.

Totally agree grapewater 123. German bombast and overengineering go only so far to justify the high price. "Ve make ze best products! "Ve haf maid every possible test" "Our product has all ze features you'll evver need". Turns out humble brands like Caberg, Mt or Scorpion make safer helmets for a fraction of the price of Schuberths. Being a bit less self-satisfied might actually help make better products Germany!
