Thanks for the video. Very interesting how the modified sine wave inverter tests.

Your very welcome! Wonder if a video about how an inverter generator works would be the next video idea?

I smell a Live stream coming!!!

Yes!!

Well,,, Did a Live Stream Happen? Or we still waiting? I have the big guy there and I was wondering how long will a battery last on average? Do I turn it on while. Charging? I'm a novice as you can see.

Great job. Great info. Cheers

Good catch on that. My best guess is that the SJ1332 may be configured for L-L and not L-N. They likely use the same design for other countries that do use L-L configuration for other voltages to lower cost. A bad design, nevertheless.
@Bassguitarist1985 Жыл бұрын
I didn't realize other countries use L-L. Topologically speaking it's far simpler in electronics to implement a modified sine wave versus a pure sine. However the cost and parts is not much more. What were essentially paying for is the engineering/design of it.
@orlypalomar Жыл бұрын
@@Bassguitarist1985 I agree. I guess it's somewhat fine when you plug the load directly into the device. Just don't hook it up through the main electrical panel like you would a generator.
@Bassguitarist1985 Жыл бұрын
@@orlypalomar You would not believe the amount of times that came up in the comments of my first video on this unit and then the emails following after. Some were able to do it but they likely only connected the hot and neutral. Still dangerous.

Once made the mistake of connecting a travel trailer to a 300W MSW inverter. All I heard was a "click". $30 in MOSFETS & a 30A ATO fuse to get it working again.

Hey brother - glad I stumbled across your video - so I just borrowed one of these from my father in order to power a small 12 watt amp for busking - I will be running backing tracks off an ipad - which I also use as a "pedal board' for my harmonica. I use a small IK multimedia guitar rig interface (passive) and run my Audix Fireball mic into that - with a low to hi z transformer. As I also play bass and sing - I was hoping to run more off this puppy - but Im now wondering if Im expecting too much. Im borrowing this for now - as I cant afford a larger one - or one of Rolands Street Cubes - which would frankly be more convenient than using a battery pack. I see you are a bassist as well - so I thought you might have some insight. Thanks in advance.

Definitely not big enough to run all that.. at least not for very long. You need a bigger battery and a bigger pure sine inverter for the given application.

@@Bassguitarist1985 how about just the 12 watt amp? Even if just for a couple of hours?
@Bassguitarist1985 Жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaDb_The_Witness 12 watt bass amp? What is the wattage draw from the wall? 12 watts is the output but the input power is higher since no amp is 100% efficient. What model?
@JoshuaDb_The_Witness Жыл бұрын
@@Bassguitarist1985 it's an Ibanez practice amp. On the back it's that it draws 12watts

totally off topic comment here, is that a 2011/2013 Macbook still runnin strong I see? Did you switch the optical drive for a SSD like I did or keep it stock? I did the SSD swap on mine and it gave it some new life about 5 years ago but Linux is in its very near future now as I start to learn software engineering stuff. great vid! keep it up brotha!

Yes sir a 2012 running Catalina. It was free so could not complain. Eventually it's going to need to be replaced. My wife works remotely so she's likely going to get the upgraded beefy computer before I do.

I have the same unit and my 120 v outlet quit working i checked the fuses nothing wrong with them i took a look on every electrical board nothing suspicious,what you think the cause of this problem.
@Bassguitarist1985Ай бұрын
@@gabrielmerza6904 if the fuses are not blown, chances are the input boost stage control chip and/or one of its MOSFETs has failed. No schematic available unfortunately to repair easily.

I have connected a modified sine wave inverter to the house before you just don't connect the ground and I used in isolation Transformer

Yes that would help to get rid of the live neutral but obviously far more of a set of complexity than necessary
