It is a real contest, one of the events at CMWC Cycle Messenger World Championships which travels all over the world yearly. Although not sure why these lads can't longer than a 100 feet. Guessing they are not allowed to get up to speed...at our events I seem to remember well over 200 feet if longer has been recorded. (Just looked it up, over 500 feet is the record as per Wikipedia)

Well, depending on tires and road surface skidding can be extremely easy with a fixie. Controlled braking, as fast as possible though, under bad/inconsistent conditions - that's a completely different story.

My technique for longest skid is you must put your weight on the front wheel. You will notice that the back wheel will slightly lifted at the floor

It's very easy to get a long skid if you pump your tire to the max. Also, put a longer stem to put more weight on the front. And use some hard compound shitty tire and you will go 100 meters far.
