Seems like everyone wants to show the LT trim. Just once I would like to see a review of the LS trim. For those of us that need to buy a new vehicle at minimal cost. Yes, we are out here.

You failed to mention the Trailblazer's front passenger seat folds flat to allow hauling long items (or flat sleeping). Trax front seat does not fold flat.

I have had both in RS and still have the Trailblazer. Loved the Trax but decided I wanted AWD so got the Trailblazer. To me the biggest difference was that the Trailblazer was a little smoother riding, still a little tight but smoother than the Trax. Style wise, I certainly like the Trax styling better on the outside. Interiors are very similar. The Trailblazer does have a few nicer options but not a big deal to me. I blinged out the Trax with a lot of red accessories from Amazon, knob covers, bezel covers, AC vent covers, I used a gel pad for a keyboard to make the door armrest more comfortable and also a center console padded cover to make that hard plastic more comfortable as well. All in they were around $500 for all accessories. Didn’t feel I needed any bling for the Trailblazer. Just comes down to your style preference and AWD or FWD. And the Trailblazer costs a lot more.

How is the engine? That was one of the big concerns that it would be overstressed.
@DrummerDanVa5 ай бұрын
Normally I wouldn't think about purchasing a Chevy but the Trax looks interesting to me. Of course it isn't built in the U.S. which is probably why it is affordable. I am interested in seeeing how durable the 1.2 turbo engine is over time. I like the styling and really like the green color in the 2025s. And I have NO desire to own a CVT. If car makers can't make vehicles people want and can afford it won't be long before they are all out of business.

They’ve been producing this engine for five years now, at least for the US market.

I thought it was us old folk who were resistant to change. I've been driving a cvt for 3.5 years and love it. Granted I'm more conscious about gas mileage these days than I was when I was buying gas for $0.21 cents per gallon. You need to just stop comparing CVT's with traditional automatics. At least the CVT doesn't hunt for gears. See each one has their pros and cons.

You say that the Trax is less expensive than the Trailblazer, but you can buy a 2025 Traulblazer LS with 1.3L engine, 9-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive for less than you will pay for almost any 2025 Trax Activ. IMHO, all-wheel drive is a great safety feature and worth much more than bells and whistles like fancy interior trim and a sun roof. And 9-speed automatic and AWD are not available on ANY Trax model.

I have a 2021Trailblazer Activ with AWD (and a real skid plate). The great thing about the TB AWD system is that it is not full time but on-demand. With on demand you don't sacrifice fuel economy, just keep in 2wd drive until you need/want AWD. Blow a tire on a full time awd vehicle and guess what? You have to replace all 4 tires.
@jaminschmitt5 ай бұрын
I wanted AWD so I got the Trailblazer. AWD trailblazers have a hidden speaker in the spare tire compartment. They serve as a ANC feature although I don’t know how effective they are. Because the Trailblazer is a compact SUV I’m needing to utilize the cross bars on top and plan to install a 1,000lbs hitch. Based on Chevy’s website this is the only hitch model my AWD Trailblazer ACTIV can use. Once the crossbar and hitch are installed I believe the limited space inside won’t matter, especially for long road trips. The sound system in my model of Trailblazer is decent but lacking as it they are stock speakers with amp. (6 speakers w/hidden 5 1/2 speaker inside spare tire. In order to improve the sound I’m having a custom set up which will unfortunately make the already small cargo space in back even smaller. The floor bed is able to shift 2 inches lower which will help but by the time the custom built 8” sub box is placed in the cargo area space will be cramped. Anyway, so far so really love my Trailblazer. It comes in a metallic copper color with white top which really stands out amongst other vehicles. Once all the attachments are installed long road trips will be a blast. So far I’ve been getting 33-34 in gas mileage. The automated head lights works great. It would have been interesting to see the adaptive cruise control in action but my model doesn’t have that. Overall, great vehicle.

I currently have a 22 Equinox RS and in 6 months the lease will expire. Doing some serious thinking of downsizing. I wouldn't mind the 2025 Equinox but it's out of my budget range. But the 2024/25 Trax is catching my attention. You get a lot more in the Trax for the $$ compared to the Trailblazer. And it's always just me in the vehicle. So maybe the Trax is for me and too bad it's not awd option. But I always have winters and went years with just fwd.

@nancyrogers5950 it was under warranty. They have had it over 4 weeks waiting on a motor. Got a recall this week about a module that needs changed out that could affect the motor. I asked the service manager if this could have caused the problem. He said he didn't know for sure but maybe.

@daytonaflyer3 ай бұрын
The air conditioner is really strong. It puts out tons of airflow. The only problem is that I bought a 2025 Chevy trax, and after 5 days the air conditioning stopped cooling. Now it's at the dealership getting repaired and I have to pay for a rental car for 2 weeks.

Junk vs Junk. Why not talk about a vehicle that weighs 3,137 lbs. with 6 speed transmission that has had proven issues and powered by GM's LIH 1.2 liter 3 cylinder turbo engine. The turbo is likely to fail at about 60,000 miles and the wet timing belt will likely fail before it gets to 150,000 miles, if it's well maintained. It may appear initially like good value, but the resale value will be terrible in the future. On top of that, the fuel economy for this dinky little engine is not very good. It gets around 24 mpg in the real world. Is an extended power train warranty available to purchase from GM? I could find that option and ask yourself why!
