I’ve always wanted to make a film with this sci-fi plot device paired with the theme of "losing identity". A group of passionate professionals who also speak sci-fi helped bring this vision to life. We pulled inspiration from some of our favorite films within the genre that called many of us to become filmmakers in the first place. The result is an indie short film for and by blockbuster lovers. But at its core, "Outpost" is a film about identity and questioning what it is that truly defines us.

I will simply never get over the fact at the sheer quality thats out there in these short films with better scifi portrayals of events than most modern hollywood stuff. Its not all zombie apocalypses and shows a lot more human stuff. Unique custom perspectives and stories which i really appreciate

So proud of our short film! It was a wild ride to produce but so glad Jamie and Ben brought me on. We shot in the middle of the desert with no cell reception and the sun set at 3pm so it was a challenging shoot logistically but we had such a great team all around and our post-production folks did such a great job too! So proud of everyone’s hard work!

The quality of the production was great. I loved the personality of the droid. The problem I have with the story is it implies that it's not surprising there is a clone, but it doesn't give any hints as to why there would be one. Of course, it makes you want to see more of the story to find out.

I don’t know who are the people behind Dust… but they are like the Philanthropists of good content. To stream not only this short film but all other content of Dust for free on KZbin is something that earns my respect. Although my most favourite one, “The Candidate” is now not available on Dust KZbin Channel. My other favourite is “Imminent Arrival”. Believe me you won’t be disappointed.

This totally reminds me of that movie from the 70’s where there’s like an old knight and a kid on a desert planet in space? Villain was a guy in a black mask? “Galaxy Crusade”? Something like that. I remember they had laser swords too. I wonder if the makers of this saw that one.

Fascinating.. For years , if you think about it, people have been using doubles . Not biomechanical, at least not truly so. Just look at Putin , Kim , Hussain, Gadaffi , the list goes on and on . Even Churchill had his doubles. But going forward , it’s only a matter of time before we see in which direction science is going. Brilliant film … I loved it. R

Incredibly well done. Only thing I really have to critcize is that it's a bit short - though it was on Point to be clear. It's very hard to merge real(!) sci-fi with an action theme (big budget Hollywood failed many times despite those movies being blockbusters). Would like to see a Part two (and more)! Also, do I See influences from Iain M. Banks here?

I've never gotten so fond of a character so fast; never seen the actor before, but he's got acting chops, oodles of charm, & had great, witty writing. I was seriously disappointed when it ended....I wanted a lot more!! Great film!! Edit: Welp, I feel like an idiot, the actor was the creator, or at least one of 'em. Gotta go catch more of him! So I did, & watched this again. Outstanding!!
