I really, really like this, but it ended too soon and too abruptly. This should be followed by the opening credits, not the closing credits! You've given us a first glimpse of an interesting world, characters to root for and care about, and shown the first step of their struggle in an allegory that's timely and important. Now what? I really hope that there's a followup.

No point making it too obvious. Kudos to the director to leave this ambiguous ending: Did they get there on time? If they did - was it as good as promised or not really? It could go in so many directions and leaving this so open ended makes us think... and make this very engaging. A great Thank You to the team who made it - it was very good.

I am watching the launch vehicle they used to enter the wormhole and I'm thinking that it is today's technology. Travel by such vehicles could be commonplace. Not to go into outer space but from one city to another. The F35 aircraft uses that same technology. Shuttlecrafts are here if companies choose to develop them.

Nothing against Disney channel, but there all storys ending well. What happens after the passthrought? Without energy? Without hope? They made it to the new earth - and chrash into the nice park. But before most of the vessel vaporised in the athosphere...
@IngoSchwarze2 жыл бұрын
@@snoopy0155 All you say seems likely. Then again, maybe the autopilot was actually smart enough to abruptly switch off all energy consumption exactly the instant the trajectory was right, rather than letting it run out. In that case, there might still be enough energy left to rendezvous with an orbital station, which i assume New Terra is likely to have. Let's hope they is still hope left...

Some commenters are complaining of a lack of and ending, but does it really have no ending? Is the story actually one of success or one of hope? I side with hope, because as we all know migration attempts fail every day and people die, but the hope was born of the individual story for all of them. Hope is the story and the hope is why people try to migrate again and again, because which is better, to die trying or to die a coward. With Hope...people can live, but they also can die with their light shining inside.

So, critique:. The acting was actually not too bad. Lots of Elysium comments here, and I agree. The audio mixing was not good. I could barely hear most of the dialogue (oddly, all the Spanish parts). The only dialogue I could understand was the robot. BTW, I'm quite certain that robot is a dressed up version of one of those wavy paw cats you see at Chinese restaurants. Kudos for using what you have for props. As for the message, here's the deal. It was obvious, and that made it bad. The BEST art buries its message under the art. This one was pretty obvious. Even the robot had a Hispanic accent. Subtly is your friend, otherwise things just get preachy. All that negativity aside, I liked it. The special effects were fine as far as I'm concerned. The acting was fine too. Soundtrack was acceptable as well. I thought the wormhole looked pretty good.

Stay home, fix yourself, your education and criminal records to the best of your ability. Then, pay your fees and wait. It’s the rule in nearly every modern nation on Earth. It’s a hassle for good people, but the rules are to protect the good people from being swarmed, molested, robbed, killed and set ablaze. Australians are not allowed to swim into North Korea to defecate on their flag, are they? No. Rules are laws, break them and suffer the consequences for decades, or life.
