This is a stunner. My kids are in their forties and both successful and yet I sent them this straight away that they might know themselves fully, override doubts, and respect their deepest truths in all things. I wish I could say their father always has. The people who put this together have a bright future. We need them in our world. Bravo!

That was so poignant, powerful and moving. I've lost my brother, a best friend and a Grandmother (years before I was born) to suicide. Sharing because I know the longing that Mira had to save others from feeling this pain. We can't bring back the ones we've lost to this monster. But what we can do is share our pain in the hopes that it makes anyone considering suicide to realize that they matter--and even if they don't realize it, their deaths will leave a hole in the souls and hearts of people who love them. A wound that never heals and never vanishes; regardless of how much time has passed. I appreciated how Shalini Bathina brought that through I loved watching her negotiate for Smiley because she believed it could be a friend to help people who can't or won't ask for help. The empathy and emotions displayed in this performance were so touching that it shows how truly talented they are at their craft. Mira stuck with her AI friend and in the end, managed to get the funding necessary to make it real. Thanks so much for this, it was truly moving and so touching.

Wonderful story, excellent execution, and impeccable acting. The reveal mid-way through took me completely by surprise. Very well played. And very on point for the story. The programmer's arc wants me to know what happened to her friend. In just a couple minutes you created an empathetic and sympathetic character (Aristotle would be proud! :) ). I felt her emotional journey (as condensed as it was), and felt a real sense of catharsis at the conclusion. And... I love how, in a story about super-advanced AI, the story was about a young woman and her very human reaction to things. Keep up the good work, and thank you for this story.

In the vast universe of science fiction cinema, there are short films that glow brightly like stars in a crowded constellation - "The Lie Game" is such a film. It is a film that showcases directorial prowess by Jyothi Kalyan Sura, who has previously sharpened his technical skills at DreamWorks Animation India, contributing to projects as illustrious as "How to Train Your Dragon 2". Sura's directorial hand in "The Lie Game" is as sure as a seasoned captain at the helm of a ship. In a scant 15 minutes, he succeeds in intertwining the cold logic of computer science with the deeply human experience of grappling with mental health. This is a film that balances on the fulcrum of today's zeitgeist, serving as a lens through which we examine our own relationship with technology and mental health. But the triumph of the film is not only in its timely subject matter - it's in the performances, too. Shalini Bathina, who plays the central character, is luminous. As a computer scientist navigating the labyrinthine world of technological innovation and funding, Bathina brings a poignancy to her performance that shines brightly. She shoulders the emotional crux of the film with grace, turning her character's personal journey into a universally relatable story. Providing a formidable balance to Bathina is Dileep Rao, who essays the role of the mentor. His performance, though subdued, is a masterclass in subtlety. Bathina and Rao share an electric on-screen dynamic, their performances melding together to create a narrative that is as riveting as it is touching. Despite being a short film, the production values of "The Lie Game" are top-notch. The quality of the visual effects, sound design, and overall production would rival many feature-length sci-fi films. With its wide distribution by Dust on KZbin and Shorts TV, "The Lie Game" represents an ambitious leap forward for the accessibility of high-quality short films. So, here we have it - "The Lie Game", a work of brevity and depth, deftly crafted by the talented Jyothi Kalyan Sura. Aided by stirring performances by Shalini Bathina and Dileep Rao, and bolstered by impeccable production values, it's a film that truly stands out. In its short run time, it creates a universe of emotions that's worth diving into. You'll be glad you did.

@James Baker %100 agree! Excellent effort here. I’m invested too. My synthesis: I believe they will hire her as freelancer AND fund her App. When the app goes vertical, they should invest into marketing her as a separate Brand and advertise her involvement for the Win-Win-Win.

The best fiction helps us to find "reality" by confronting and exposing delusions (lies). We interpret the world around us to the best of our abilities. Usually it's incomplete or entirely wrong. It's one accomplishment to see through the lies others tell to us. Another, much more difficult reality comes when we can see through the lies we tell to ourselves.
