Saddened that kids on school trips will never again get to experience the Ontario Science Centre the same way that we all did in years past. They will be truly missing out.

Hi Johnny so upset about this science center close such good memories as a kid thanks for the video! ❤

Part of the learning experience was the vastness of the Science Centre, so much to see and encourages other visits to see more. A smaller venue will lead to mostly one time visits and as said, there'll be no Planetarium and IMAX. Proportion is important in a city, and having many attractions downtown makes for gross imbalance, it discourages exploration of the city. The spaciousness of the Science Centre is fitting for the spacious country of Canada and a quality experience at the iconic landmark, easily accessible to all. Keep the original Science Centre !

Sure have memories of the Science Center as a kid in the 90’s summer vacation in Toronto with relatives. When we lived in Eastern Ontario, before we moved back to Toronto. 2002. I don’t recognize Toronto anymore.

I grew up in Don Mills and spent an enormous amount of time in the OSC learning cool shit and playing hide and seek on cold Sunday afternoons with my friends. What a good time that place was. Kinda like Ontario Place. This all really breaks my heart.

When my dad sold the house on Inwood Avenue in 1981 we moved to the apartment complex on St Dennis drive across from the daycare which used to be a community center with a pool. It's always been a very high crime area which explains the lack of convenience stores. I love the area because it was close to East York and the access through the Don Valley pathway was superb and I would fly on my bicycle down the hill beside the Science Centre to get to it. It was the fastest way to get downtown by bicycle without having to run red lights, stop signs or deal with traffic and all that pollution. It was also nice and cool down there in the mornings during summertime heat waves. Great stuff Johnny keep up the good work, Buddy.🤙❤ 👍

My brother in law built the displays at the science centre. There was nothing so severe with the building to warrant tearing it down. I’ll miss it, I remember many school trips to the science centre and going with my family. Very sad 😞

My father used to live on St. Dennis drive in the late 80's/early 90's. Also, I think they should have declared the Science Centre a historical site.
@sirbobloblaws15 сағат бұрын
Agreed. They should also declare Doug Ford a pre-historic site.

I've gone to every major city in every province and saw their respective Science Centres and none of the premiers are that effing stupid and corrupt to actually destroy a working Science Centre. In fact most of their facilities are modern and up to date.

I'm of the opinion that no matter what happens to theOntario Science Centre, whether it's fixed, demolished, sold, whatever, it will cost millions, more likely billions of dollars. I know how the Ontario government woks first hand, having spent several years working as one of the architects on the Union Station Redevelopment. It started out as a 500 million job, and ended up well over a billion dollars. I don't think it's even finished yet. Now, how many homeless, and hungry people live in Toronto? Hundreds? Thousands? Nobody really knows. Why not take the Ontario Science Centre money, and build some housing for the homeless, and give them some money so they could get a sqaure meal. Shut down the Science Centre, put a fence around it, and leave it; just abanondon the thing, and stop wasting money on it or studies about it. There are other much more important priorities that we are facing now.

What I totally don't understand is that no one is allowed to build in the ravine anymore, so the only part of the old Science Centre they can raze & rebuild over is the topmost building. And some of the surplus surface parking lots were already sold for redevelopment, so there really was no reason they couldn't have redeveloped the area all around while leaving the Science Centre there. Could have been a really neat centrepiece for the new neighbourhood. Such a waste.

Well done, Johnny, to tell it like it is - this provincial government is truly a disgrace and will go down in infamy for generations to come. Flemingdon has a predominantly dark-skinned population (and wonderful neighborhood spirit) so there are certain overtones to the decay that has been allowed to happen. Shame. Shame. Shame.

I rented there and they have cockroaches . The superintendent after moving in insisted they gave me the wrong lease and demanded a new agreement with a higher rent .One night when I came home the elevator was full of blood and the halls slashed by a knife . The science center had a free archery range. I am not Neil .
