The pga championship hosts a long drive competition for players on level ground, jack Nicklaus blasts a 342 yard drive in the contest in 1963. Small wood head short steel shaft the 2017 - 2019 contests at pga championship long drive would have lost to Jack's 1963 win of long drive. That's mind numbing. Its incredible to think what his 1963 swing would have produced with modern ball and driver

anom momentum is the name of the game when hitting the ball, formula being...Mass x Velocity It's kinda a trade off but not sure which would be more controllable Light head fast swing or heavy head slower swing

How do we know that manufacturers are not providing juiced up balls to pros? Seen some pros with very slow looking swing still hitting the ball way further than what I would expect from the balls I hit purchased from retail stores.

Billy Graham it's because there swings are still faster. They look smooth and slow, but they've been developing the specific muscles for 15-20 years and now it's just muscle memory.

No it's not, muscle memory has little or nothing to do with it. Timing and length of plane have EVERYTHING to do with it. Technique, nothing to do with "muscle memory"... if you replace this with "sub-conscious" communication... talking to the body... then I might agree with you... but that is NOT muscle memory, that's communication. Muscle memory, what load of crap... golfers are so ignorant of the body it's pathetic

Because golf balls are governed by the laws of golf too... that would be cheating. something I certainly take a dim view of, as do most players

Billy Graham the golf swing only matters from the ball and onwards the rest of the swing has nothing to do with how far the ball goes
