Observation 18: Subject Zedaph has done the work for us this episode as he gives a tour and tallies results from all of his research stations. From the Pitch Drop to the Farm Arm, everything is re-visited. I know that we're to be impartial, but as a brewer myself, I believe the ComBREWter 2.0 is the most useful, whilst also being the most fun. Who hasn't tried to toss pizza dough or flip pancakes into the air whilst cooking? Silly and functional. His experiments on fellow Hermits have proved very useful for our observational team, but thanks to the final experimentation, the Chamber is out of commission for a very long time...possibly forever. It may be more financially responsible to just build a new one. We're still working on the final data gathered on subject Zedaph, whilst also taking into account the bias of the testers for the session. There's a lot to unpack. Regarding the moon: as the rest of the server scrambles in the face of certain destruction, Zedaph seems very collected and calm, even enjoying the startling lower gravity as a new way to get around the base without taking damage. In good scientific practice, he remains objective, but also has a sense of finality about him in this latest report. I believe this to be a "goodbye" of sorts to the laboratory that he has lived and worked in over the last six months. Zedaph's attitude is admirable considering what we've been doing to the environment. It's an interesting behavioral test, isn't it? What would you do when faced with impending doom? As always, fellow observers, I wish you well this holiday season. Have some cocoa, eat some cookies, and bask in the warm glow of family, friends, and a giant moon.

Given the odd blocks flying in the air and the strange gravity you were experiencing, you may want to reevaluate your anti-grav experiment data to see if there is a connection. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with the moon. That would be a lunar-tic hypothesis, right?

Ok I don't really wanna be a knowitall but its actually a really interesting fact that I felt like sharing- The word "lunatic" actually does originate from the word lunar because people would blame the changes of the moon for phases of insanity, therefore creating the word lunatic. Sorry if it is coming across as rude or trying to show you up or anything but I do think it's a kinda cool fact

I rather like the big orange octopus, but I suspect they're better when they're intentionally placed. Astute historians from the future will note that this horrifying overview was a key event in the development of the Hermitcraft Science Ethics Council. The reasons for its later collapse stem of course from other factors and fifteen shulker boxes of TNT.

I dont think the season will end, but I think they will all move to a new area. Remember the fist day of the server? The desided that they should stay on the same iland since the shoud update rest of the worl/map after the 1.18 update. I guess have whaited to do it so everyone is redy to leave storwise and finnish their buildings.

Year i think the original plan was to include the new update in this season, but since it took so long, the hermits probably decided just to start over and not having to fuss around with transfering the server to the new terrain generation.

Given the moon storyline and how everyone else on the server has finished their bases and are talking about building a rocket to leave because of all the shaking I’m pretty sure this season is coming to an end or something cataclysmic is about to happen.

I was sure everything around the main island would get updated to 1.18 terrain, but seeing how things are getting finished and people are wrapping everything up... I wasn't ready for this season to end 😭

@@PixieeSG - I mean, if they're going to update the world outside the island to 1.18 that also means they're going to move location to settle new builds IN that new terrain. So makes sense they wrap up the 'old' builds in the old world gen first. This is exactly what happened when they moved locations for the villager update in HC6. New bases and new stories in the new update world, still same season.

Zed....why is this feeling like a goodbye to the lab? :'( because this was a triumph. I'm making a note here: it really was a huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. Zeds Lab, he does what he must ,because he can. For the good of all of us. Except the ones who are dead. But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake. And the Science gets done. And you make a neat wool wall. For the people who are still alive. I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now. Even though you are breaking my heart. And killed many villagers. You tore them to pieces and threw them piece in a fire. As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you! The lab is still alive :3

Cool demonstration of how a graph can be messed with to make the same result look drastically different. The sheep all gave a roughly similar amount of wool, but the cooler-looking chart makes it look as though some of them gave five or six times as many wool as the others. Which just isn't how Minecraft sheep work.

@@Hoehlenmaensch I’m wondering if it’s due to the way the Mojang team has implemented the new world generation. They were planning on resetting the chunks outside the main continent, but the way worlds update is now is the world deepening EVERYWHERE instead of just newly generated chunks. They might be able to figure a way around that, but I wonder if that was decided to be too much work. Though they may be trying to trick us? I hope so. Castle Holenzard (spelt wrong, but I can’t be bothered to look it up) hasn’t been completed in the interior and given how much work Cleo and Joe have put into it, I’m sad at the thought that it might not be enjoyed for long. There are so many mega bases or even regular bases that I’d love to see continued upon, but it has felt like they were trying to rush it a bit more. Either way, I’m happy for the season we’ve gotten. It’s been great, and whether or not it ends here, it will be remembered for a long time.

@@taytaythehufflepuff8532 The world deepening everywhere wouldn't affect anything, that was the expected outcome from when the new world height changes came out. Easy way round it is just to remove bedrock at the bottom of the world where you don't want it to be deepened.

I think the season might not be over, but it might change drastically, i.e. the switch over to 1.18 will do stuff that changes current building spaces as well as not yet loaded areas or (my favourite idea, but probably too much work) regenerate the seed and place destroyed build versions everywhere.

Heads up Zedaph. Chopping the y-axis in a bar chart so that the scale starts above 0 is generally bad practice in data visualization and is viewed as misrepresenting the data. I would recommend normalizing the data first then graphing. (I got a very similar looking graph when I experimented but I wanted to make it obvious that I took a course recently on data analytics :P )

Subject zedaph seems to have no problem with the moon. Unsure if he is pretending he didn’t do that to the moon, or if he can fix it, and doesn’t want to because of happy floating. Subject has successfully created many science experiments in other hermits, and sciencey devices. Well done zed! Love ya!
