Your podcasts are really informative as well as entertaining, I liked both of them. I really appreciate your work and hope you continue with this. One suggestion from my side is that try to bring new topics in addition to alternative medicine, scientific temper such as trending halth topics or the common issues on which people are most like to be misinformed.

I'd push against the "harmless" (astrology) practices as well because it is a way of thinking and accepting without evidence which is more likely to lead to harm.

I won't say deluding people is completely harmless. Those practices give people a false sense, security or dread, depending on the reading.Not to mention the gemstones they ask you to use can be quite costly too.

I'm at 42:06 but growing up in the 90s, there were a few Indian quiz shows that piqued my interest in other areas than academics. There was one sponsored by Bournvita that was quite popular I think. But probably the biggest influence was from an (probably) australian show, called Backyard Science
@CjqNslXUcM Жыл бұрын
wow that's a pretty high-profile guest! One tip: you should upload your podcasts to a different channel, because it will mess up your recommendations. Upload some highlights as shorts or regular videos here, with links to the full episode. Fewer people like podcasts and even less watch the entire episode, so KZbin will stop recommending your channel, even though people still like your highly produced regular videos. it's important to keep a steady output w.r.t. video length, content type and upload frequency. Highlights are closer to regular videos than podcasts are.

Easier to see the cause and effect if you built a bridge on shoddy assumptions (it collapsing) than when making healthcare choices where that is not always that apparent. Like you could genuinely feel better and even get cured after say taking a homeopathic medication but that's because of the natural disease progression and placebo effect not the medication, that cause-effect relationship can be difficult to make for someone who doesn't understand the underlying mechanisms.
@thelakeman2538 Жыл бұрын
@Prodigious147the natural disease progression includes everything that'd happen without treatment, so immune system is included, a lot of the symptoms you get from a disease (eg- fever, inflammation) is due to the immune response against it and not the pathogen itself.
@thelakeman2538 Жыл бұрын
@Prodigious147I thought you meant that I missed the immune system lol.

Around 33:00 where you are responding why Indian science channel have gone up, the reason in India people love science only to earn money is pretty myopic considering it is true for everywhere even in the most developed nation. More plausible reason seem to be lack of or quality of science content considering science is a global topic. Again this is improving day by day but India being a developing nation, the priorities of people is to make money first and honestly do we have anyone who even comes close to the likes of Kyle Hill, Kurzgesagt, Mark Rober etc. Also, please consider it a feedback from a fan, you seem to struggle to keep your political beliefs to yourself in your content where Indian customs and current government are trashed and rightly so. But you prefer to stay silent or a soft takedown at most when it comes to superstition in Abrahamic faiths in India, disregarding they are mostly hushed and enjoy global patronage and support. They operate like a mafia where any dissent is promptly boycotted socially to being threatened / killed.
