The example with the N resonance is not always true. Specifically question 22 of C/P on FL 6 Blueprint MCAT. They have a similar scenario and consider the N to be sp3 when in one form and sp2 only after resonance has taken place.

Blueprint MCAT is wrong... when you analyze the electron density of compounds that undergo these types of resonance structures they more closely resemble the lower hybridization geometry... I’m not sure why blueprint mcat made that mistake but this is a common concept taught by organic chemist... but good catch and memory relating what you saw but I’m fairly confident blueprint is wrong
