I enjoyed the clip. Still trying to learn this gopro stuff. You said to set the resolution to 720p I don't see 720p only 720 I have a hero 3+ what does the p stand for? I thought it stood for protune so I turned it on and it didn't make a difference I still don't understand what the p indicates. Thanks
@sciencevideography9 жыл бұрын
Lavar Mathena 720 p refers to the resolution of the image, which is 1080 pixels in width and 720 pixels in height. 1080 p is 1920 by 1080 pixels. Both are HD and 16:9 aspect ratio. The higher resolution takes more memory, which might be one reason to choose 720 p. But the choice really depends on your particular needs and where the video will be shown (computer, wide screen TV).

You can only set the camera to 120fps if you're in NTSC mode. In PAL mode your two options are 50 and 100 fps.

How would you make portions of the video slow motion and other parts real speed. I am making a video of Hawaiian shore break and I want the footage to slow down only for about 7 seconds when the wave is pitching. Thanks for the video! Helped a lot
@sciencevideography9 жыл бұрын
BB22 Glad my video helped you. You can change the speed in parts of your video in GoPro Studio. I don't have a specific tutorial on this, but there are some on KZbin. Here is one that does a good job explaining how to shoot and edit your footage to get a combination of slow motion and other speeds: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWbUfaWid819fM0

I will be filming from about 20 yard and my video will contain both regular speed and slow mo. will this setting affect the video for normal speed? thanks
@sciencevideography6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will matter, but it may depend on how your editing program handles the two types of clips.

What's the highest frame rate this camera can shoot at in full 1920x1080p?
@sciencevideography8 жыл бұрын
At 1080p, you can shoot at 60 fps; drop to 720p, and you can shoot at 120fps.

can you do the same thing in Final cut ?
@sciencevideography8 жыл бұрын
+NΞYNΞY Prod. You should be able to use any movie-editing software to adjust the speed of a film clip. Here is a tutorial that briefly shows how to do this in Final Cut Pro X: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaaTZnSkr7ebfZI For best results, be sure to film at 120 fps or higher.

mine dosent slow down when i convert and go to stp to its all the same ?
@sciencevideography9 жыл бұрын
IAmJustAGiraf Porsing 1. Be sure to capture your footage at 120 fps by selecting that setting in your GoPro camera menu. 2. In GoPro Studio, before conversion, go into Advanced Settings and reduce speed to 30 fps. This should work.

***** can i setup the fps to 30 from camera instead of using gopro studio for slow motion ???
@sciencevideography9 жыл бұрын
omar abdel gawad You still have to shoot at 120 or higher fps with the GoPro or other camera and then slow down to 30 fps in editing with another device (computer). I'm not aware of a way to make this change in the go pro camera so that you can review the slo-mo in camera. To change the speed of a film clip from a GoPro, it must be imported to an editing program. You don't have to use GoPro Studio for this, however; other movie-editing programs such as iMovie usually have an option to change the speed of a film clip. If you are wanting to shoot and then review a slo-mo film with a single device, an iPhone 6 will shoot at 240 fps and will let you play it back at 30 fps. To reiterate: shoot your film at 120 fps with your GoPro or other camera, then change the speed to 30 fps in a movie-editing program to produce the slo-mo video.
