It didn’t reverse your diabetes. You simply aren’t taking in much glucose. For me it definitely helped my diabetes going keto, but it wasn’t sustainable long term. I used a CGM to figure out what to eat. Learned a lot. I put select fruits and vegetables back in as well as some grains and legumes. But I stay far away from all potatoes, I generally don’t eat rice, I don’t drink any sugar containing beverages, and I generally stay away from anything with added sugar. For what it is worth, I eat a lot of protein and my diet is probably “low” carb. A1c went from 13.7 down to 6.2. I can live with that.

@lnfopublishingsecrets1887 Жыл бұрын
Prostrate problems are often caused by free-testosterone being acted upon by the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme, along with estradol (estrogen like substance from your diet), aromatizes testosterone into di-hydro testosterone - a more potent form. It is generally thought to be di-hydro testosterone that causes swelling of the prostate. Changes to the diet and generous amounts of zinc can reduce swelling of the prostate. Anyway, good luck with your health.

Rena is very good, but I think on this point she's a victim of establishment dogma/misinfo. Saturated fat and cholesterol in the diet are safe/healthy.
@justinw17652 жыл бұрын
One of the only foods shown to directly and significantly lower testosterone in men, is full fat cow milk dairy. Cow milk has female hormones in it that bind with fat. Skim milk has almost a 3rd of the female type hormones (I call them female, but that isn't fully accurate, because male bodies produce a certain amount and need to produce some, but they are much higher in female bodies naturally). A little saturated fat and cholesterol is ok. The problem is that the standard American diet is way too high in it, and also in animal protein. Animal protein, unlike plant based protein, has amino acids that are sulfur based--and what that means is that if you consume a lot of animal protein, it puts an over acid load on the body (because of the sulfur). I've experimented with a lot of different diets over a long time. So far, what feels best for my body is a highly plant based diet, but supplemented with certain animal foods occasionally. Mainly things like sardines with skin and bones, occasional egg yolks, low fat yogurt. For me, the proof is ever in the pudding, and beside my own experience with this (and various studies), that high functioning dinosaur of an athlete, Tom Brady, eats 80% plant based and more alkaline forming, and 20% other (mostly animal based foods). Clearly it is helping him to keep at the top of his game at an age considered far past typical prime.

Little to be learned from a cross-sectional survey as it can only detect correlations rather than establish causation, especially if you're just looking at a 24 hour record of food intake. If you're going to bring up this topic, then show us what the longitudinal studies have found in relation to diet and testosterone. Far too many people bring up the Mediterranean diet without specifying exactly what that is. There's quite a difference between the diet of people living on the Greek islands say and people living in Athens. There are big differences between the diets of the Turks and the French and Italians. What men really want to know is how to boost testosterone back to the levels they had in their late teens and early twenties in a safe way. We do not want to inject artificial testosterone compounds that make our balls shrivel. We do want to know more about the promise of hormonal treatments that stimulate the body to increase testosterone production.

Does a vasectomy end up reducing your testosterone production? Thanks
@Centurion101B3C2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a doctor (and certainly not a urologist), but from personal experience I have to conclude that a vasectomy does NOT reduce testosterone. I had my vasectomy (in my late 40s and after I had reached reproduction quotum) roughly 20 years ago and certainly in the beginning there was definite uptick in my feeling of masculanity and enjoyment. The body remained functioning just as it had before and my testosterone levels remained at or above age-related decline expectations and they still do. The natural decline in testosterone levels now have me use a daily topical hormone replacement in the form of a gel applied to my skin, which does the job quite nicely. As to interest in sexual activity, age progression and general decrease in physical vitality have certainly had an impact, but in the grand scheme of things is still going strong with little or no adverse impacts on enjoyment and 'production'. What I do notice on occasion however, is a sense of incompleteness with the notion of only firing blanks and not the real deal. Not that I would be contemplating things along reproductive lines, but at times I find the awareness of not playing with 'the full deck' with respect to production a bit offputting and somewhat depressive. Something to definitely keep in mind prior to the decision to undergo the extremely simple and light procedure of a vasectomy. Note: At most other points, I very much rejoice in the freedom from care, responsibilities and consequences with 'beastly' abandon and my partner(s) have over the years not expressed any adverse findings as to my endurance or vigour on the topic.

The bun on the burger has sesame seeds which are grains, the bun is also a complex carb, as its hard to hold and handle when there is too much sauce, there is a small portion of meat and of course the vegetables (pickles, lettuce) in the burger. Its also very good for the testosterone levels when the lovely cashier at the drive-thru smiles at me.

I was surprised she mentioned Red meat and butter? There is bucket loads of research data that shows red meat consumption positively influences testosterone production in men, via a number of pathways. Organic, grass fed butter in small amounts as well. Organic, activated nuts are also an excellent food choice as they are packed full of nutrients, minerals and monounsaturated fats. Otherwise. A useful video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

The whole30 diet worked wonders for me. Lost 25lbs in one month, found out certain foods that affected me (after the 30 days) and after reintroducing them one at a time, separating them with a couple of days back on the diet, then introducing a different one until I had reintroduced all. Unfortunately, beans are my enemy and so is Chocolate (sniffle sniffle) but over time, I now don't even want chocolate because I associate it with the severe belly ache it gives me. But, I felt stronger, more energy, and.. Uh hmm.. stronger elsewhere too.

Can you do a video explaining the negligence on male Hormone awareness verses female hormone awareness As I think that it is so easy for woman to get HRT if there out of balance as it’s so widely practiced but for a man of any age to get accepted for TRT it’s dam near impossible because it’s never been a big deal I think that testosterone levels will affect each male different as some people might need more than other hence why some guys experience symptoms at different levels than others All in all I think there’s something desperately needing done as the rate of males taking there own lifes is higher than woman and we all know test has big part to play in the mental well-being of males I feel (and when I say this I mean no disrespect) that men are getting left in the dust when it comes to woman Woman have more say and everything from men these days we are getting forgotten about

Dr. Malik, I usually agree with you one hundred percent mainly because I really don't have any expertise on what you're referring to however dietary wise we find here in Silicon Valley that following a low carbohydrate diet that syncs up with our anthropogenic evolution is the best bet to fight off inflammation. We found that even fruit has a higher glycemic index and often causes inflammation. All of us still remember the negative health effects that Steve Jobs had when he went on a fruit diet so it tends to be very present in our minds. So we tend to favor vegetables and meat as the main source of dietary nutrition.

Dietary recommendations from the medical community are a disaster. The whole nutrition and dietetics field should be disbanded. Classic example of correlation != causation here.

At 73 and my testosterone in fine according to my doctor. At any rate I eat a strict low carb diet and have for 30 years. Lots of red meat, seafood, fats like butter, cheese, eggs. And some low carb fresh vegetables. I do not eat any type of grains or fruit. My wife and I enjoy sex every other day so my sex drive seems to be doing well. I would take your dietary suggestions with a grain of salt as not necessarily be right for everyone.

Wrong Doc. One does not avoid meat but consume more of it to boost testosterone level in body. Meat contains bioavailable zinc with is readily absorbed . Zinc is essential minerals for elevation of testosterone.

Red meat also boost testosterone levels but it's best to eat red meat in small portions like 3 to 6 ounces and make sure the meat is organic and lean cut especially with all meats per meals cause eating too much red meat or any meat for that mattercan boost testosterone levels too high to the point it's bad on your liver and kidneys ... it's best to eat everything in small portions , moderation and fasting on weekends

Doc did the tests and yep low T was one thing she found. I was shocked because I associated testosterone levels with libido. That is like it was in my 20s. Anyhow i now will need testosterone injections every week. I also got some b vitamin nose spray for when the energy is super low.
