Its stories like this that makes me wonder why Hollywood are constantly remaking things instead of searching for new materials.

Remakes and sequels are low risk. The material is already known to be liked, so there's a built-in audience. That's why they feel safe blowing hundreds of millions of dollars on each show/movie. New material means risk, people may or may not like it, and the big studios have grown too fat and risk averse to try that.

for this type of story its very good. you might look for murderbot diaries or red rising - read by sonny burton. or the weekly stories by p.e. rowe to name 3. there are many others too, but there is a lot of crap out there too. btw pe rowe puts out a story every thursday. or a chapter in an on going stpry. he writes it. reads it ,and even makes his own thumbnails. give him a shot 1st. amazing guy. also teaches writing.

idk - The sonny burton version is the better one i think, But. id give it a rest try it again sometime later. That can make a difference. Other good YTubers are Gerald Kilby, Craig A Falconer, LARS, Lyssa Dream and the Sentience Wars saga on Aeon 14 channel. Also ASN - agro squirrel narrates. with his non stop scifi radio. and other stories. and others. Also DUST - for some good low budget videos. There is a lot of good stuff, but eventually the really good stuff will dry up unfortunately. Some gets removed too.

After making a kofi donation or giving a YT Channel Subscription to the author,... There are allegedly a few good online convertors for 320 Kbps Mp3's, that are reasonably safe to use (infrequently) 'YT video to mp3 online ripper' sites online, plus a few others if you especially have a pop-up blocker,... Ignore the converter sites that just spam alternating DL site pages in a Mobius Loop of spam links, or try to force you to install some sort of app, windows fix or dake page warning. and ignore those which ask for details or membership logins, ..all those ones are definite criminal laundering/phishing scam sites.

I just binged Listened this today, and it literally took me to the end to realize this isn't a book! I was looking for the rest of it and was horribly disappointed, but elated this is someone's content! I the 40k vibe sits there, but it has a bit of a softer appeal instead of brutal grimdark, As much as I love 40k, It's nice to have an apprieve. I imagine that this can be taxing, but I'll echo everyone else's request for Book 2 Plz When, but with the caveat that I'm more than happy to wait for you to write it well, or if they're are delays, I'm sure we'll all understand. Just finished chapter 15, so about half way through what this video contains. I have to say, I think it's brilliantly done. As an HFY, it leans into the space opera genre in a good way. It has real "classic scifi" vibe but doesn't hang onto played out troupes. It reminds me of Gordon Dickson, or even some of Clark's later stuff. This is a series I'll continue to follow.

This should really be a book one can buy.

Sadly since the author posted it on the Internet it's now part of public domain which means he no longer has any publishing rights to it. There are a few promising authors that I really think should publish their work instead of going public domain but to each their own 😓

@@KarterBigs Well the thing that complicates matters more is that neither Scifi Stories or EkhidnaWritez were the original person started to write this story. The original Author wrote this for chapters 1 -4, then lost motivation to continue writing this story. So if they were make it into something more like a book, they would probably need that person's ok, to avoid potential mess court room drama.

@Soundwave119 Honestly makes me curious where the orginal author was going with the story. I mean E has done a stunning job with it but still makes me curious

When the story continues, I'd like an aside with Wyatt approaching Jincho asking him if Jincho and his team could design a special two/three seat fighter/escape craft that would carry Clara, Cynthia and either Wyatt or another pilot to safety in the event of the Noir Navea being boarded. Wyatt's instructions would be to make the fighter the fastest, most heavily armed craft in its class. Jincho would take the instructions as a challenge and immediately go to work with his team. Secretly Wyatt intends to teach both Cynthia and Clara to fly the new escape fighter. While Clara immediately takes to flying the little craft, Cynthia proves less adept at flying. Clara treats the small nimble craft as a personnal gift from Wyatt and Jincho, Her very own fighter which Wyatt names Reaper's Blade.

At the 7.5 hr mark and totally hooked. I'm a die hard military space opera fan. Read much of the aeon 14 sagas. This has amazing potential. Very nicely developed. Thank you for the journey!😎🤝
