I was expecting at least a week between books. It's crazy fast how EkhidnaWritez putting out chapters. The rate EkhidnaWritez is putting out chapters is Uber rare. In fact the only person I know that much of last year putting out chapters as fast as EkhidnaWritez is fanfiction writer Aria6 with his Warhammer 40k series.

Yay new book lets see how it starts. Good to see that Wyatt is a lot less subservient now, but our author does like to leave us hanging at chapters end doesn't he LOL One of these chapters I am sure that Wyatt is going to discover that with all of Cynthia's tuition he is no longer useless in combat, the woman is at least as good as two of the Royal Marines and Clara's bodyguard so as long as she knows how to teach, plus assuming Wyatt takes notice which he appears to be doing, then Wyatt will turn out OK when the inevitable noble challenging to a duel occurs.

He also seems to be lasting much longer, but the amateur training before the basic training comment just shows the pain Wyatt will be facing!

@@travelingscienceman4404 Yes but at least his implants means whilst it hurts he recovers swiftly and Cynthia has been kind to him, she hasn't broken any bones ... yet ! But I understand why she's doing it, After her Wyatt is likely to be the second line of defence for Clara, but he's also likely to have to face stupid nobles trying to show off by challenging him to a duel for some stupid reason, after he has beaten up one or two, probably leaving them alive but hurting word will get around that he's dangerous and has been trained by the Princesses body guard, from then on most people will decide that discretion is the better part of valour. I suspect that Clara and Cynthia know this is inevitable so are training him to be the best they can, I would not be surprised to read later on that Cynthia has him spar against a Royal Marine and for Wyatt to find much to his surprise that he can fight to some sort of draw. Only then does Wyatt realise he's no longer useless in close combat

As a 57 year old sci-fi lover, I must say thank you for this work. You are truly an artist story teller, and I would love it if someone would pick this up as a series for tv. Even if it was done in Anime, I would be greatful, as the world you have made has everything that is needed for a successful series. My only fear is that some idiot executive would try to change your characters, or "Firefly" the show before it catches on. Peace.😊❤

Well said , I'm only a couple of years younger myself, the only problem with it being picked up for TV in some form is that inevitably there would be lots of cuts at which point potentially you loose a lot of what makes it a good story

This could be better than some of the recent TV scifi shows, a new universe a new breed of aliens with many more to come, the author should get in touch with the channel that produced the amazing fan fiction advert for a new star wars that was immediately shut down by copyright holders it was done so well. I imagine they could create an amazing series for TV, damn approach Netflix and I am sure they would sign you up if you could create a compelling first episode. Great story with just the right amount of action and hint of possible romance in the future. As an older listener I can honestly say this reminds me of watching the first few Sci fi shows on TV. Yes needs polishing, but even without that I am hooked.

Perhaps this is because we, as an extension of Wyatt; have also been elevated to a more trusting position as confidant.

Wyatt had a road of learning ahead of him, and there are good teachers. He will grow as a leader and being given the responsibility of developing his own squadron of fighters. Thank you to the Author ✍️ for touching on the forward story of the Black Ship/Noirnavio, there is long standing navel history in the capture of warships and in the naming of the captured vessel. Typically in the Royal Navy (British 🇬🇧) the officer credited with the capture was afforded the naming and was entitled to 1/8 of the prize money. Given the scope and scale of the Noirnavio a conservative estimate of the vessels value would be several billion credits, to which our Hero/Wyatt would be entitled to a substantial reward which the Prince and Princess have alluded to. Fair Wyatt and to that end will have tremendous resources with which to assist his family. Thank you for this episode and looking forward to episode 27 😊

I was unsure of the details on the naming of a ship so thanks for clarifying it for us. Of course it depends on if the author holds to that old British convention. And of course it was not actually Wyatt who captured the ship it was Cynthia and the Royal Marines but it was Wyatt who defeated the former captain, even if it was not much if a fight, so there is that going for him.

@@RebelMerc Under Royal Navy Rules everyone involved in the capture of a ship got some reward, even the seamen, also in the event that crew were captured who could be used there was a bounty per head also split amongst those who captured the ship, in the 1700's this was £5 per head, in 2023 terms that's about £850 - £1000, so you get an officer of the Royal marines plus his men, Cynthia and Wyatt, Technically Wyatt is the Only Naval officer so should get a 1/8th share and I believe 2/8ths or 3/8ths was split amongst the remaining members of the boarding party, the total is based on age and condition of the ship, Brand new undamaged ship with a full compliment of fighters is going to be a lot. Think of the cost of a Modern US aircraft carrier $13Bn and Wyatt could be entitled to 1/8th of that .... Suffice to say Wyatts parents and brothers will go up in the world, this historically was not uncommon, many Royal Navy Captains ended up buying country estates for their family/retirement

YES, YES,YES, YESSSS! 💥 I've listened to "Black Ship - Book 1" twice now...... because it is so good! I didn't realize book 2 was available. GREAT plot, character development, just enough - hell I could go on with many more reasons- suffice to say, this is a good, interesting **sci fi story** that left me wanting more. I've been a book reader since the third grade - (64 years ago) especially science fiction - and this is old school, classic, adventure sci fi! .... THANK YOU!

I do like how book 2 starts with Prince and Clara breaking down the larger picture of the Coup. I do like how almost human nations have basic pact in making sure humanity does not don't fight each other and from alien threats who might want to exterminate humanity. I do love the stellar politics that goes on this story. I am glad that the traitor arc in the Prince's fleet has basically wrapped up now. I do love the touching whosome scene where the siblings show their sibling love for each other. I am not surprised that Clara questions if it's a good idea for Redford joining Clara. I do love how Prince hearing it was Wyatt who named the Noirnavio. That Clara for awhile been planning on elevating Wyatt for a while. I do like how the dark thoughts Prince has how the Drazin were able to get so deep into the Principality of Astor's territory, especially considering how recent the coup is. Poor Wyatt is getting abused by Cynthia who is showing how much she cares about him by trying to make him the best melee fighter he can be. Not surprised that Wyatt is not used to getting compliments by people who genuinely impressed with him. No surprise that majority of nobles transferred to the Noirnavio would be envious of Wyatt. I am not surprised Wyatt was thinking how he wished to doing any other mundane job back on Volantis. Glad Wyatt is getting proper training as a officer and noble from Redford. I am not surprised that Wyatt is over the moon being in command about starfighter squadron and has the total control of who among Redfords fighter forces. It hilairous how the chapter ends with Redford tells Wyatt to be more creative in naming it than Noirnavio! 🤣😂

Waiting PATIENTLY for the next chapters...I am an avid reader of Science fiction and this is by far one of the better stories on KZbin. Compared to this Novel, the others are trite, contrived, monotoned and somewhat racist. The Black Ship offers complex relationships in a modern setting with details of actions that are exhilarating and can leave you breathless. Some of the characters could use a little more development but all in all I am ready for Book 3.
