Just so I understand correctly. Flat-Earthers accept the science of what we can see and how strong a light source needs to be for us to see it at all (whether the information in the video is correct or not). But if the same scientific methodology is used to show that the universe, stars and planets exist, as well as details of their properties and how far away they are from us, then all of a sudden it's nonsense? You know - if you were to work in a room with such poor lighting. Say you have to pick the read cable from the orange cable. However it is much different if a colored light source is emitting light - even at very low levels - you would be able to tell the color of the emitter. And in the case of Mars - even if it is not technically light emitter - it receives MUCH more than 0.01 lux - which is then reflected back to us.

Since a lot of people go on to be pilots I have to believe that they could identify the colour of a very small and dim light in the dark.

@@irrelevant_noob I think there is an issue with X photons per square metre hit the moon from the sun. When the moon only reflects Y percentage of photons at the Earth then there are not many photons when you have X x Y / 100. However he is probably not multiplying by the number of square metres of the moon's surface that are reflecting photons at the Earth. There is usually some basic error in the numbers flerfs come up with. You only have to consider how they butcher 8" per mile² when they try to use it.

You mentioned measuring Jupiter's distance using radar. I looked it up to see if that's actually been done. Jupiter was successfully ranged in 1963 using the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex. This was a groundbreaking achievement, as it was the first time radar was used to range a planet beyond Mars. The radar measurements helped refine the astronomical unit (AU). The radar signal took approximately 45-50 minutes for a round trip at opposition.
@coyotezee49 минут бұрын
It has also been used to measure the distance to other planets. Most notably it measures the distance to Venus when it is at greatest elongation. This was done for the first time back in 1958. This helped establish accurate distances for all the objects in the solar system, which then, via the law of gravity, gave accurate masses for all objects as well. Cool what science can do.

Hardly anyone - and I include myself - can immediately recite the difference between candela, lux and lumen, absolute and apparent magnitude, unless they work with them every day. A typical university library will have a hundred meters or so of Astronomy and Astrophysics journals with a good 1000 papers to the meter. Flerfs have no idea anybof this exists.

GATE GUY IS BACK!!! I really missed that bloke, one of the first ''flatearthers'' I saw

He's been around for a while, and all of his content is as bad.

Classic Dunning-Kruger with that guy, he knows enough to think he knows all. I try to make sure I know enough to know that I know nothing.

So, the FLERF's entire argument is based around a misuse or misunderstanding of a basic unit of measurement? I'm shocked. SHOCKED! Well, not that shocked.

This was definitely an AI generated voice. He's probably afraid to use his own because people may recognize him. This is what happens when someone reads only the index of a science book. Are you REALLY going to make us all suffer through all six of his videos?! You are a cold and cruel man! I am now going to try to resuscitate the cells of my brain which committed self destruction because of this video! Thanks a lot Dan! LOL

I subbed around the time of the Gate video.

Why is it that I get more confused every day? Is it because these flatearthers are contagious? THE EARTH IS A ROUND AND STARS ARE VERY FAR AWAY.

Flerf paradox: The harder they try to use science to disprove science, the deeper they dive into science they don't understand, and the less valid scientific arguments they produce.

Just another example of "I can't understand it so it must be fake." Firmly rooted in hubris.

Great impression at the beginning, spot on. That had me crackin up. I had to pause it for a sec because I was laughing so hard.

He should calculate the size of a telescope that to his understanding dims down / dissipates the sun's light sufficiently so he can point it right at the sun with naked eye. That would certainly put his view of space to an end!

Obviously he doesn't accept that we've actually been to Mars! LOL

Always funny when these flat Earth clowns debunk themselves in their own videos.
@jykelly60896 сағат бұрын
These people are hilarious. They try and use one fact (that they have invariably misunderstood) to debunk the whole of science!

What do I think of the Kryptonite Physics video? Absolutely hilarious. How he manages to use a doorknob without smashing his teeth out every time is beyond me,

I mean, a flerf thinks 8in/mile squared is the value of the curve for the whole planet and not an approximation for short distances. Why would they understand any math needed for planetary calculations?
@jtg25255 сағат бұрын
He forgot that the aperture of a telescope is many thousands times that of our eyes? Lol
