I absolutely love my iQ. Had it for almost 80K miles over the past 4 years or so. Not that great for long road trips but in town it's a blast.

Toyota should make it as a toyota. Keep making them. Its such a good car. And I'd rather have an IQ over a Yaris.

4 year old comment? Wow, haha! Yup, the iQ has proven to be better than the Smart. Even today, iQ’s of similar years are more expensive than Smarts, maybe double the price. 2013-2014 Smart, you can find it for $3-4K...iQ’s are $7-10, depending on mileage. Cheaper iQ’s have salvage titles.

Nice FAIR review of this car. Have owned one for two years now and put about 45k on it in that time mostly two line rural highway driving. Pros. Cheap to run. Cute. Attention grabber. I get more stares in this than my SLK. Reliable. Relatively nimble for in town/city driving; this thing is a 4 seat go cart with 94hp. Can park anywhere. Can U turn on a two lane road without leaving the roadway or three pointing. 4 seats? Wow! Cons. Road noise is bad, especially on the slightly wider lower profiles I have installed. Strong winds at highway speed will blow you all over. Gas milage over 70 mph drops like a rock. The CVT still sorta rubber bands you even in sport mode. Prone to hydroplaning above 65 mph. No cruise control. Trucks wanna buttf*@k you. :( Still a total winner. When I finally kill this one Ill hunt for another one with as low miles as I can find. Awesome "in town" cars.

Nice review, multiple impressions are good to hear even if they're all favorable, you all had a different take on the things you liked. Also this is the first review I've seen where anyone ever acknowledged the Sport mode in the IQ actually made a difference.

A car like that is waiting to get new brembo brakes, and rarely needing a new body cage, and simply a single turbocharger, or a supercharger. And don't forget a tuning chip.

Aren't these cars dangerous due to the short wheel base?
@jeffguice33347 жыл бұрын
@supercooled: Not really anymore dangerous than any other car. I have owned two of these iQ's. They are a lot of fun to drive. Check out their crash test ratings and videos, and reviews from owners who have walked away from bad accidents unharmed. They come with 11 airbags. That being said, the short wheel base does become an issue on rough terrain. These cars hate pot-holes and speed-bumps, and anything too rough will require replacing a wheel hub assembly. They are designed for city driving.
