Very few channels I pretty much drop everything to watch a vid. I always learn something. I might have said this before, Logical Canuck has a very affordable pressure transducer build. That check that performed allowed uto check three critical items. 1. Fuel pressure 2. A/F sensor 3. Back pressure 4. Timing belt accuracy. Sweet. Thank u Pat!!!

Working on 2015 scion xb, idle issue. Low rough idle 500rpm/high idle 1100rpm. Was playing with brake pedal and steering wheel after I . Reset idle with 2 on off ignition cycles, 3rd cycle started it. Emergency brake up, put in drive and let it relearn for 5 minutes. After it felt 👍. So I turned the wheel all the way to left and idle got stuck at 1000rpm... haha, before I had a really low idle when I turned it.all the way.. So I'm looking for my next direction for diagnosis. Anyways I'm Enjoying your vids while taking a break 👍 👍

Unless I missed it, I didnt hear you say what your limit is for backpressure, maybe 3 PSI?? Why was the exhaust changed, did they say, was it for the same problem? Another great video. For readers here in the future if you believe you have a clogged exhaust system you can do the same procedure, disconnect the exhaust between the CAT and the muffler, if still a problem, disconnect forward of the CAT and it will clear up if the problem was a clogged exhaust. Beware of the possibility of breaking studs, lots of break free may not work.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. One question, air fuel sensors work with different voltage as i can see, every manufcture uses it own. Is there any stragety that you use on toyota vehicles or all the readings are the same..thanks
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 4 жыл бұрын
You're right all manufacturers use a different voltage number. For example, Toyota is 3.3 volts. But keep in mind that A/F sensors don't work off of voltage. They actually work off of amperage. The voltage reading you're seeing in the scan tool is a substituted number. BUT if there is a lambda pid 1.0 is the standard for stoichiometric across the board for all makes and models. And anything lower than 1 is rich and anything above 1 is lean.

hi i really like your video and i have question i was driving my 2006 Scion XP and everything was working fine I had the problem with radiator before I did not fix at that time and the battery light came on and the brakes and ABS light came on and check engine was on before and stayed on I change the battery the battery light did not go off stayed on and I made it home that night on the battery power only this is my little bit long sorry anyway I tried to check all the fuses all of them inside the car and the ones by the engine compartment all of them none of them was going off next morning I changed alternator radiator I did oil change on the way the battery light went off the only thing all the other lights stayed on I did not have AC I did not have the fan on all the time I was driving home so when I pulled up in the parking lot the temperature was high I tried to release the pressure from the radiator safely anyway after I changed all that I still have the odometer is not working it's not reading my speed the fan is not working I bypassed it temporarily trying to get help you could tell from what I described what could be the wrong is it the computer you think it went off

If you were to check the compression with a gauge ,what kind of reading would you expect to see with a clogged cat, Pat?
@VoltageDropDiagnostics

The same as you would without a compression gauge actually.

Thanks for another great video, PJ. Can you please send me your email address? I would like to show my appreciation for teaching me valuable diagnostic techniques that allow me to keep my family's old vehicles running perfectly. I hope a token of my gratitude will help offset your dropoff of billable hours. I hope the family is doing well!

I appreciate it! But I can't accept that. I'll be fine. I always am! I do appreciate it though.

@@VoltageDropDiagnostics Please, PJ, I insist. Use it for your wife or your daughter. I am sure they're getting bored from spending too much time in the house. At the very least start up a Patreon account so your fans can support your videos every month. Or you'll force me to send it to Brandon so he can forward on to you! 😉

I promise, we will be fine. I turned in a couple vacation days for pay. And this week wasn't as bad. I do appreciate it. And I'm not sure how I feel about Patreon. I'm not doing this for the money. (Because let me tell you, KZbin isn't very generous hahah) I do this to try and help the industry.
