Worked In a factory like this for yrs scissor lift was never allowed in when crane was working and crane was always locked/tagged off when scissor lift was in the area. Just common sense really

This accident is a perfect example as to why we shouldn’t have to tie off in scissor lifts. Stay safe fellas!

@@roystevenson1375 the guy who was able to jump out lived without injury. The guy who wasn’t able to jump before impact was hurt. Whether they were wearing a harness or exactly what the situation was, it doesn’t really matter. We need to be able to bail when we need to bail.

Every 3years you are forced to pay for a CSCS or another stupid certificate to get a job and then do an induction course on every site.

With how health and safety mad things are, how the f did that not get picked up !? Unacceptable that fines isn't enough in my opinion . You ruined someone's life you should go to jail.

If your working a scissor lift or high ab in an area where overhead crane operates and you know theres one best way to get round it lock off the supply to the overhead crane sorted should have had communication between the two companies but the electrician on site is the final part of risk assessment and health and saftey at work. If your not happy either dont do it or lock off the crane supply

Atrocious risk assessment when the RA was done by others I used to do my own. When its my life I seen it as my responsibility to keep me safe.

That's what I'm thinking we need everyone to be better at doing their own risk assessment. Trust no one else and refuse to work until you feel it is safe.
