I'm a straight cis female, but I've gotten a lot of sexual harassment in my youth for being unfeminine and odd, and I'll never forget discovering Scissor Sisters' first album my senior year of high school. It was wondrous, it's hard to describe. And later having a lot of my close male friends who came out to me, and later moving to the east coast and being welcomed to an enormous friend circle of gay men, I have grown to appreciate so much of the adversity my friends and the LGBTQ+ community have faced, and gives me new appreciation for the Scissor Sisters and Jake. No one I knew had even heard of the Scissor Sisters until I moved to the east coast.

"I make music for everybody" Jake Shears is an inspiration. Truly an incredible entertainer and human being. I grew up listening to the scissor sisters and I'm proud to say it taught me to be myself. I am a straight white male so I couldn't begin to understand his struggle or the struggle of the LGBT community. But I think his message transcends that barrier. It should be ok to be yourself, yet some assholes have to ruin other peoples lives because of their own fear and insecurities. I also think it was shitty of the interviewer to ask such loaded questions. I just can't understand why people aren't willing to accept their fellow man and treat them as human beings. God bless Jake.

People keep complaining about the interviewer and that Jake "did the best that he could" but if the interviewer had been personable and it was more of a conversation, Jake wouldn't have been alone with his thoughts and he wouldn't have given us such a deep understanding of who HE was. Love this interview. Love Jake/Jason.

It's such a shame when people leave disparaging comments about his sexuality on videos featuring him. Even more of a shame people have a blindness to it that allows them to believe he doesn't experience hatred and it's all a victim complex in his own mind. A further shame that people roll out this line of thinking to discredit the difficulties LGBT people experience and dare vocalise accross the board.

Very honest. . . Most people in general from small towns have to wait until college or even the second year (after the idiots flunk out) to be themselves . . . As long as you attend college or life in a city or artsy place, you should be fine. No one like those shitty popular people who got to do what they wanted in high school. Those people are now married/divorced with 20 kids. . . Sitting on the couch balding and / or getting beer/pregnancy bellies. That’s what I picture every day to thank my hard work and shitty high school days that I’m not those people.

Women are also having our rights stripped in different states (that were barely there in the first place). To have the right to your own body and what goes on inside it is a human right. Man, I wish people grew brains enough to vote for a woman. America fucked up a second time because of misogyny. Misogyny and any hatred is synonymous with stupidity.

First let me say I am gay and voted for Trump and will again in 2020 that being said I love Jake Shears music he is way underrated as a singer, Trump is for gay rights and lets not forget that it was a mulsim who did the orlando shooting and who want sharia law in the U.S. and kill gay people, how can people reconcile calling themselves a Christian but be for abortion? I am gay and have never done drugs or drink, I dont go to gay bars or gay pride parades and my dad is a conservative Baptist preacher, we should all get along despite how we love or live.

tyler496121 but trump is against politic correctness.Even now with this much politic correctness ppl still make hate on lgbt and could get away with bullying gays.I don’t know how much news I’ve seen that gays get bullied and the abusers never be punished the way they desert.Just imagine how awful it could go without politic correctness,it’s bully and discrimination legalized in a way.Ppl would make hate and discriminate whoever they want without any consequences.Justice denied is crimes encouraged.

If you honestly believe that Trump is for gay rights...you're not getting your news and information from legitimate sources, and you're in denial.
@anthill151018 күн бұрын
@@fl0nk11 Trump personally doesn`t care one way or the other. But the people around him and the Evangelicals who`s vote he garnered to get elected very much want to revoke gay rights and he won`t stop them. So if you voted for Trump (again) you voted away your rights.

I prefer the songs & music that I love, I won’t be buying the book. I didn’t know Jake was considering joining the military, if that was the point he was trying to make on Chanel 4 news. Or he was just virtue signalling following Hillary, The universities and CNN stirring up gender wars that are exaggerated, and they try to pin it onto Trump or libertarians like HRH Milo. Come to The Uk before that anti - gender Marxism and fascism gets worse from our liberals and Corbynites of the left who may try to say rubbish like Harry & Markel to Exterminate fabulous people for showing their pride, When the truth is acceptance is mainstream and wide spread with the exceptions of Telford , Rotherham, etc, where the islamists may not like your rights to live but the police will uphold the islamists hate speech and gag us antiracist anti homophobe peaceful liberatarians. Peace be upon you. Say no to guns and explosive vests. FGM is a knife crime in London but no arrests out of 300 cases.... BBC are mostly Corbynites. My personal pronoun today is Prince, on Mondays it’s King between the hours of 04:17AM and 17:09, then it’s President until 17:14 except leap years when it’s 17:18.
