Thank you Katie for your video. It's really helpful. I have a question for ex: "1/2 kneeling exercise with 2 poles". If I have (1) extensive right thoracic curve, (2) no left lumbar curve, (3) my right butt is slightly rotated posterior than the left when standing, (4) my left pelvis is hitched up higher than the right. Which knee should be down and which forward when doing the exercise? Thank you.

It’s hard to tell you the correct position unless I assess you clinically and see your x-ray. To be safe I would just do both knees down with pelvis neutral.

Hi Katie, as usual your videos are great! On the Half Kneeling with Poles (23:06) Is highering left arm is also valid is there is NO right thoracic curve and ONLY left lumbar curve? Thanks.

If there is only a single lumbar curve and no thoracic curve your arms would be straight across. Hope that answers your question!!!

I can do these exercises if I have S-shaped scoliosis

Yes but make sure that the upper thoracic curve is right sided and lower lumbar curve is left sided. Otherwise do them opposite of what I’m teaching here.

Hey, if i have just a right side backward c curve, do i still place one knee down? Thanks

I would have to assess your spine specifically or see your x-ray to correctly advise you!

Hi again Katie, another question: When I sit, my weight is predominantly on my right butt. When I shift my weight to sit on my left butt, my spine seems straighter but now my right butt doesn't touch the chair. Should I put a sandbag below my right butt when sitting? Thanks.

It could be helpful to the novice if you wore a black T-shirt with the spinal curves marker on the back of it. Thanks for what you do

Which type of Schroth do you practice?

Hey Dr. Carlson. I’m trained through BSPTS and was mentored by an ISST therapist. I also have done coursework through Scoliopilates. I use all of these experience in my treatment of individuals with scoliosis.

@@schrothboss I get lower back spasms when grocery shopping or anytime I walk, then stop, then walk again but if I’m consistently walking, I’m good. Odd.
