Social anxiety leads me to isolate my self from society 3 years ago so I lost my speaking skills and I can feel the effects of not using my voice for a long time. Now thank God i overcome my fears and I’m here doing your exercises before getting a job and start talking to people again. Thank you! 🙏😉

I wish I found your channel 2 years ago. I'm not going to share my long story here, but my speech became unclear 2 years ago. My tongue became super weak, yet also super tense. I have excess saliva, and dry lips. I have seen a speech therapist for this, but she didn't believe in stretching & doing exercises to help your tongue. I believe the majority of my speech issue relates back to my tongue. I've had such trouble finding actual help.. And even though it's been 2 years, I'm really hoping these exercises make a difference in my speech.

Hi! This is not my area of expertise. But I am very interested in learning more about orofacial myofunctional therapy. If I complete their training, I’ll reconsider your request! Thanks for commenting and letting me know what type of education you’re looking for.

I hope you are seeing some improvement. I have my tongue split and it’s hard to figure out if I’m doing the wide and short thing correctly and not just sticking out my tongue and relaxing it

This is definitely a hard exercise to master. I’ve never thought about the effect that tongue splitting would have with that muscle function/control. Keep me posted on if it gets any easier as you continue to practice!

These exercises are only for people struggling with these health problems, does it make sense to do them when you just want to improve your diction?
@SpeechSecrets

Great question! I generally include speech based exercises for improving diction for individuals without overt oral motor weakness or oral motor coordination difficulties. Putting this on my video ideas list!

I notice with tongue out and down that if I don't make a point of showing my upper teeth like you do, the whole mouth gets depressed lol.

Great awareness! Yes it can be challenging to keep your jaw stable and keep the movement isolated to the tongue.

A tongue tie would also make performing lingual elevation or depression anatomically challengingly.
