Sounds like a no brainer to go with anyone but Scoot unless it's a rock bottom economy ticket. We're flying for a second time when we go to Phuket in March.

If I recall correctly based on what I saw elsewhere on KZbin, the IFE system on Jetstar's B787s, at least in economy class, require an additional fee to actually play any media, so the systems didn't get much use, and a 7 News report mentioned an interior refresh that would do away with the IFE system entirely in favour of tablet holders (like some Qantas aircraft had at least for some mid-haul international flights).

I think it's best to classified any business class seat that doesn't lay flat as premium economy. People should note premium economy is closer than economy than it is to business. It's good that Scoot doesn't try and sell this product as business class. I would say the minimum for business class is Airasia flat seat. In that case it would be business class seat with economy service.

Great video, Jayden! I always love seeing Singapore Changi Airport. I need to get back there soon. Nice review of Scoot Plus. That seems like a comfortable way to go at a reasonable price. I do agree that plane needed a really good deep cleaning though. It was good to see Bangkok. Glad you had a good time.

I am going to Bali at the end of this month. Flying thru Singapore on the way home (ADL) just so I could check out the Jewel and catch up with friends. only extra $65 USD for the detour. More points/miles, and I didn't have to pay for late check-out in Bali as direct flights to ADL are red-eye🤣

Excellent video Jay! I got back from Bangkok 2 Fridays ago - enjoyed it there and caught up with friends and my bf and went up to Chiang Rai, hired a car and drove up to the mountains and saw the beautiful gardens at Doi Lung. Happy travels !

I have never flown Scoot but after watching your most entertaining Vlog I would consider using them for a short haul hop as you did on this occasion. Like you I would buy an economy plus ticket. Didn’t know that they had changed the name of the class from Business and I appreciate the up to date info regarding that. However I was horrified at the filthy cabin…ewww. Hello Jayden, really surprised re the lack of cleanliness. Yes I know Scott is saving money on cleaning but it is also representing Singapore which is such a clean Citystate (it's been that way since I first visited in the 1970s !) and therefore it ought to make every effort to show its home in a better light.

Hi Jayden thank you for the video. Airfare to Bangkok very cheap, but plane could do with good cv lean out not very hygienic.. I'm like you the last row on the plane is my choice always find it has a little extra leg room plus you don't have annoying person behind kicking the seat.

I was appalled at the squalid state of part of your seating area. I would have written to the airline seeking compensation on the grounds that you were stressed thinking of what fatal disease you may have contracted due to the filth. I would have also taken a clipboard into the galley and done a health check before eating anything. - And, it was a premium grade area too!

I think Scoot hasn't made any improvement towards its cabin cleaning and seat maintenance. I flew Scoot Plus from Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur in March this year, I encountered the same problem. Also, the Scoot's wifi is extremely slow and not cheap at all.

I love this video and are flying SQ economy to Bangkok! Helped me so much to plan my trip! Was wondering what you thought of the location of the Conrad? Proximity to good eateries and shops?

walking distance to big malls and train station but better off waiting for the shuttle bus because it's not very pedestrian friendly. A smaller mall with eaters and a supermarket is directly located next to the hotel with direct access :)

I would say that was a really cheap flight to BKK with ScootPlus, considering that you got free meal and more comfy seat in front. But what really got me is that the restriction of only 1 free drink, which is annoying, and you said that on JQ you can get more. The filthy cabin was simply trigger me, it indeed looks like they never clean it. For the meal that for me looks like a microwave meal, I would say it's fine, but if you sit in economy class, you pay that meal for at least $20 and absolutely not worth it imo. Yep I didn't expect how strict they were with the F&B. The only thing free afterwards is water (in cup), which you have to pay in economy.

Hi Jayden, like your videos. Keep them coming, I'm always interested on what is on offer on other airlines as I travel overseas twice a year. One thing that bugs me from the number of people that put on these airline reviews, most of them never mention whether you have personal air vents above your seat. I personally really like them as I can cool down when in my seat as some cabins can be a little warm. Made the mistake quite a few years back of flying with Singapore that had no personal vents. I literally had to use the emergency information card from the seat pocket to fan myself for most of the trip. It's a trip killer for me when the carrier does not have these vents! Why some airlines choose not to have them is beyond me, surely they can't cost that much to include them when they order their aircraft. So if you can, would you be able to mention whether the airline that you are on, has these vents. It would greatly appreciated.

Fly scoot to Chiang Mai the other week. It was not cheap. ( prior to covid this was flown by Sia) it was ok. But refuse to buy the food looks cheap n nasty. Love Chaingi airport. But still searching for a decent flat white ( every coffee serves weak F/W)

If I recall ,I think flying Singapore airlines was about $640SGD return to Bangkok in June '22. That was way too expensive for only a 2hr flight, but hey that’s what you get when the world opens up for travel....

I agree with your comment on Jetstar.... thus i always fly them when am in that region. Scoot have always been a backup for me. Everything on scoot on board are over priced and i find them a bit stingy with allowances ... (as in your 1 water) budget or not, water should be unlimited, esp on "business" Btw, always thought u have an OZ passport 🤣 Singapore hygene/clenliness laws stops at the airport 🤔

Hey Jayden, yuck I seriously would be put off by the grime on that 787 especially with COVID on the rise again, I know it was a cheap flight but the food and drink situation seemed really stingy. I flew ScootPlus to Osaka earlier this year, it was fine. Thankfully my seat was a lot cleaner than yours. 🤢 The meal tastes nice enough but I've heard that on 13+h long flights to Europe, they serve your one meal and drink immediately after take off, leaving you to starve for 12h rather than offer it mid flight. They didn't offer on the spot upgrades on my flight, the crew just took the empty seats for themselves 🤣

Scoot cabin crew grooming is way different from SQ and style of their uniform is more like EVA Air. Compared to Air Asia or Cebu Pacific were cabin crew are well groomed.

Even if ScootPlus or ScootBiz is cheaper than SQ Economy, the • lack of cleanliness • frequent delays • crew member in the seat I booked • crew member luggage filled in the overhead forcing my carry-on to be placed in an overhead far behind my seat were experiences worth avoiding.

You talk about expensive airport food...I just flew MSP-SAN yesterday (Delta Airlines) and bought two sandwiches at a takeaway place in MSP. The first one was decent, but the second one was borderline inedible - I had to take it apart to get the soggy slimy lettuce and withered piece of tomato out as they looked more than a week old. The worst part is, I paid $28US altogether. If I'd seen the inside of the sandwich at the airport, I'd have taken it back and gotten a refund! That being said, the condition of the SCOOT plane seemed equivalent to that nasty sandwich...I'm surprised airlines don't have to meet cleanliness standards! However, the airfare can't be beat for the product itself. As always, great video and nice vlog at the end! But...Hong Kong-style American fried rice...as we say here in the US, WTF?? 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Jayden, you have no issues to clear the immigration at T3 whilst your flight is in T1? I remember last time i flew to SIN with Airasia (i couldnt remember which terminal. i think mine was T2). Then i internally walked to T3 to wait for my friend to arrive from Vienna with Austrian Airlines. When I wanted to get off at T3, the immigration officer scolded and threatened / warned to get me blacklisted from entering Singapore if I do it again (He implied that I should get off at the terminal where my airline parked). He eventually stamped my passport but i don't think the threatening was necessary. Reason: I don't see there is a "no entry" sign from T1-T2-T3 inside the terminal, I thought you can freely use any terminal to get in/off at your convenience. Even if there is such regulation/rules, they should have blocked the access from T1-T2-T3 from the inside to prevent this from happening. Sorry for the lengthy comment. =(

Yep I had no issued! I used the e-gates anyway. But really I don’t see why it wasn’t allowed for you and really was scolding necessary?! You have a point about how you’re supposed to be able to cross freely. The only reason you probably should avoid is when you have checked bags because I don’t think the baggage claims for T1-3 and connected

I flew scoot plus from MEL -SIN -BKK recently. The plane was filthy. Dirty windows . Food scraps and dirty down the side of the seat and the yellow curtains in the front were disgusting!! Filthy. Plane has never been cleaned. They should be removed IMMEDIATELY! Staff didn’t do much or care. Except prance around looking pretty. The food was lousy. I did like the Italian wine that I paid for though. The APU was broken, so it was like an oven getting in board as the air con was not working. The toilet also became “broken “.. they need to improve in many ways!

Definitely agree. Air Asia X's PAL leased aircrafts are incredibly comfortable. Also, not just the food is better on Air Asia but I also feel like the crew on Air Asia are more friendly and professional than Scoot.

@@leejoee02 Scoot crew are much more professional n friendlier though especially when it comes to Safety. Remember the AirAsia incident from Perth when the plane started vibrating, the crew sat on their crew seats and cried!! The passengers had to comfort them!

@@90taetaeya Are you referring to an incident that occurred 6 years ago? 😅 and all I can see is news statements from passengers saying the crew were professional and that they asked for a prayer from passengers. That aside, I guess it also depends on the type of crew you get on both Scoot and Air Asia X. My opinion may also be a bit biased towards Air Asia X as I've flown with them more than 20 times this year where as Scoot just once.

I pray I will never have to fly any budget airlines or economy. With that said, budget airlines flight crews are hotter than regular airlines like BA, SQ or DELTA. Budget airline chicks are eager to please, personally but professionally they are fucked up bad 😂

As always your videos are honest and str forward. Personally I don't care what ppl say and they are entitled to their opinions...even as a local here I won't ever fly any LCC for any flights longer than 2 hrs max...simple reason I don't think my comfort and just basic respect for myself will allow me to put myself in any LCC and be subjected to what I feel is an insult to my well being . To be really honest even more in the rare times that I do fly scoot I refuse to eat their food offered. I make sure I eat at the airport and just order their Coco water to hydrate myself. The good offered in reality is not even half truth to what it is featured in the brochure. To me that's a misrepresentation. To those that enjoy LCC I have nothing against anyone I just refuse to subject myself to such conditions. And if I might add when you add in the costs of weird times etc which means the higher costs of taxis etc esp on longer flights the savings actually does not justify myself to be subjected to such conditions and finally health wise is just not worth the little savings...

The filthy Scoot aircraft reflect on the parent company Singapore Airlines, just like Jetstar’s appalling reliability and customer service reflect on the parent, Qantas. The paying travelling public are aware of who owns these second tier low grade airlines and it damages the parent airline when LCCs are poorly managed, aircraft are dirty and they cannot manage passengers expectations when they cancel flights without any reasonable explanation.

To be honest I don't think that a lot of airlines don't really deep clean their planes either. I hink planes are one of the most dirty and disgusting public transport vehicles that exist. And yes they're basically public transport. MAybe one that most people won't use on daily basis but still.

AVOID SCOOT AT ALL COST if you value your time and money. Scoot lost my Armani coat, which was in the checked-in luggage, and they refused to compensate for the loss. I followed all the steps and provided all the supporting documents, but the airline refused to compensate for the lost item without explaining why. What is even worse is that Scoot keeps wasting your time by repeating "you should do this and you should do that" again and again. For more than a month, I have been trying to talk to the department which is in charge of this matter, but no one was available.

Unless you get downgraded from plus to economy (like me last week - first time flying with Scoot). Only $193 of a $450 fare difference between the two fare prices. So ripped off $257 and had the joy of being crammed into economy. Then they left 45 minutes late. Downgraded because the Scootplus fare was oversold - WTF? 191cm tall and I would never fly this crappy thieving airline again.
