I knew this kid was special when he dropped 62pts in a state playoff game as a 10th grader and got in early foul trouble in the next game but cheered his team on from the sidelines. No sulking and complaining, just cheering on his teammates. This dude will succeed in whatever he does in life!!!

I really like how humble and real this guy is. Kudos to his parents. I love how he was honest about how it was when he first started with ignite talking about how good people in the Gleague are and his doubt about it because how hard it was at first. This is a guy that's going to be a top 3 pick admitting that he doubted himself at one point. Just shows his character. When he called his father he didn't say "Ok son. Just come home". This is a great family

I know my Spurs won't pick him but I see him as the most NBA ready prospect in years. Just from a readiness perspective, he's head and shoulders above everyone else. The Derrick Rose/Russel Westbrook w/ shooting comps are on point.

If you think about it... he is the PERFECT fit for the Spurs. Well, any team, but Pop preaches defense first. Look at the players he has mentored. Kawahi, Duncan and many others. Would I be totally shocked if they took Scoot at #1? No, I wouldn't but I doubt it.

@@blownapart100 I don't see the similarities between the players you mentioned and Henderson. To me the perfect fit is still Victor because he obviously wants to be in a Spur and it just makes sense to draft him because of his size and skill set on both ends. Also if you look at the NBA as a whole, there are more talented guards in the NBA as compared to big men (PF and C) spot, so it just makes sense to pull the trigger on that kind of player in the draft.

@@keexko I wasn't saying they are similar in play style. I was speaking to the fact that Greg Pop, has coached and mentored some of the best players in the league and it starts with defense. My point was, scoot has the attributes to become a great defender in this league with or without the Spurs, but that system preaches defense first. And the players that have come out of that system, believe in defense.

Magic had to carry the NBA’s use of a black v white battle of star young players as they tried to build the brand of the entire league.
