Scooter Maintenance - Is It Worth Changing Roller Weights?

Conclusion? Mine is that they don't cost anything, so might as well change them when they get flats or you change the belt. They are only $2.40 US a set, who cares?

Being new to scooters I had previously taken them in to Honda to be changed, cost a fortune and probably didn't need doing. Like you said, just change them when you happen to take the variator off for another job otherwise its not worth the effort. 👍🏻

@@furstyferret81 Location is probably important. Here in Thailand I can probably get them installed for less than $20 complete. In Europe, I am sure it is more.

I changed the weights at the correct invertval to find barely any wear and the weight (which is vital!) hadn't really changed. I couldn't find any info on this so put it up for people that want to know. I now don't bother changing them unless I notice performance drop, saves a lot of hassle and cash!

@@furstyferret81 after this sort of distance they are often showing a flat spot. That makes them not fully moving out anymore. Yours of course seem in good shape, but also check for smoothness of the surface.
