Excellent video which I needed to see today, so thanks a lot. I just put a Yasuni R on my bike instead of a Sito Plus (Piaggio engine with a 70 cc dr cilinder) and it doesn't ride well in the mid range. Basicly it only rides well full throttle. I'm running a 19 mm imi black racing carb and I'm thinking about changing it for the factory 17.5 mm dellorto which I still have. Do you think that's a good idea or will I lose performance in your opinon? I've got one more question about the idle mixture setting screw; does it need to be screwed all the way in? Because you said that it doesn't need to be tuned, and I did touch it though.

Hello amazing video I know I’m a bit late to the party but I have a piaggio typhoon 2t euro 4 2018, I recently swapped my carb from a 21mm to my original 17.5mm as the bike has a huge loss in power and I can’t figure out why, it’s top speed is 40mph it has a 70cc mallosi cast iron kit, a mallosi sports exhaust, stage 6 oversized variator, 3.5 gram roller weights and harder clutch springs, the main jet I had to install in the 17.5 is a 108 i know it’s very big but it’s the only jet that worked it also has a open pod filter one it’s so frustrating as I can’t figure out why there’s so much loss in power
@scooterstreetau2 ай бұрын
Gday, how are you? See our playlist on the Typhoon to explain the Fuel system for this model. Reduce the POD filter, too much air/fuel for such a small engine.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me get in the ballpark on jets, I have a Piaggio zip 50 2t, stock 50cc, tecnigas q-tre without the restriction, and a naraku phbg 19mm with a 75 main, and 48 pilot, needle is in almost lowest clip. Air/mixture screw is 1,5 turns out, I have only startet it up fast and it fires right up, havet run it warm yet, i also have a polini pod filter, with the cover around. It is Kind of cold right now, about 8 to 4 Celius. I have a 70 to 88 main jet kit, and a spare 60 pilot, what is the ballpark jet I should try first?

I took out the resctrictor at the cylinder head and my top speed is only 70kmh. What could cause this? Thanks

Keep tuning.
@oscarnygren64782 ай бұрын
…my two cents are that this sounds about right. For higher speed, more power is needed; i.e. a 70cc cylinder. If you prefer low end torque, stick with the 17.5 carb. Go for a bigger carb if wanting more power in the higher rpm’s. I would start with the 17.5 and see what it feels like.

Hi Scooterstreet, I have an Piaggio engine with à stage6 70cc racing mk2 cylinder AC, 28mm carb and yasuni c21 exhaust. I ran it with a pod filter and even without a filter since I didn’t like these filters at all. Reasons for that are: -Way to much dirt and dust came through these pod filters, straight into the carb. -i find it quite hard to tune bottom end rpm with this much air supply, the balance between Lean and rich is way harder to find. -the most important one in my opinion, it makes way to much noise. You can hear the reed valves sucking in fuel way to hard. And on top of that the fuel consumption is beyond normal.(maybe the size of the carb also plays a role in this😅) So my question is: I want to use the original piaggio 50cc 2 stroke Airbox to bring the noise down and supply the engine with clean air, of course with a aftermarket filter in it(Malossi). However since this setup is racing/high rpm its advised to use a pod filter. Is their a way to increase the air supply from the standard airbox that will meet the air flow need of a big 28mm carb?
@scooterstreetau3 ай бұрын
You can introduce the pop stuffers and multiple holes in to the incoming side of the air box. This may require a little tuning down but still will equal heaps of power and fun👍

@@scooterstreetau thx for the fast reply, I will definitely try that out. I am struggling with something else, namely the ignition. I am using the stock ignition currently since its convenient in its use.(working lights on the scooter) I know a inner rotor is advised for the optimal ignition curve and therefore optimal performance, however I do not really care about that. But I do care about the max rpm a standard flywheel can handle, since my setup especially with a yas c21 revs very high, beyond 13-14.000, I am curious what your opinion/advise is on this subject. Another option might be lightening the flywheel with a lathe, where i live its quite common to lower the rotational mass of the flywheel by removing material with a lathe.
@scooterstreetau3 ай бұрын
@@thomdevries7639 I would not consider anything other than the Inner Rotor ignition, try for one with lighting coil. We will be creating a video including the light hack late next month.
