"Even with Palmwine as the sound, we are more refined than them. Let that sink into your palette, weaving special tapestry with Aso-òkè fabric, that means it's heavy like the head that wears the crown..." The best thing about SDC is how they've managed to diversify their sound. You mentioned something for the ladies, and you'd be surprised that SDC redefined the Nigerian laid back "alte scene" with their Palmwine Music series. It's for the ladies, it's for the beach, it's for rolling a fat one, for levitating, for closing your eyes and traveling out of the ills they talk about in the Clone Wars series. It's afro centric and it celebrates what it means to be African. And for arguably the most boompap rappers in Nigeria to pioneer that sound, it's beyond amazing. Oh, and you'll most definitely find out about Ghost's melody too. These Buhari Times is an 8/10 for me. It dropped on the first week of the year, a few weeks from the presidential election. The timing and the potency elevates it over the other tapes in the series. I still believe Clone Wars 2 is the best in the series, but that could just be my bias seeing as it's my personal favorite and the best in the series. Fingers crossed for Palmwine Express. Oh, and Buhari won the reelection. So we are still living in perilous Buhari Times. "The bartender says four more shots... Generational trauma going on out here"

A really dope Album. Another thing to note. They have two album series. The Clone Wars for the introspective shit and Topical conversation. The Palmwine Music Series for pure vibes. What you call Cookout Music. Music that you listen to and you are transported to beach vibes with the babes and the fam. I don't know if that will be your speed but if you're considering doing Burna and Wizkid. Then we can show our Core Rap Acts love too by considering the Palmwine Music Series too

You are right. +234 is like an anthem. At the end of the verse, Ghost talks about the reactions they get from various city across Nigeria, and ends that part with the reactions from Lagos. Even from the name (chorus), you know. "234" is Nigeria 's dialling code.

This Show Dem Camp album and Ladipoe's album T.A.P are highly underrated. They went all in in their various albums. By the way, 2~3~4 is Nigeria's post code. Just like Vector used in his "Judas the rat" MI Diss joint when he said "I am the only Number One in this 2-3-4" if you can remember very well, you reacted to it

The quality is great even in the 🌴 music; Spax, Ikon and co una wehdone. I will keep patiently waiting for CW5 cuz I know it will be worth the wait. I feel like the way SDC come up with their tracks is this.... One person comes up with the concept and probably picks the beat to go, drops his verse... The second person comes into the studio later and drops his own verse... That's why one person over bars the other most times. From the feel of this album, I can say Ghost came up with most of the concepts. On palmwine music 1 and 2... You could tell that Tec come up with most of the tracks

Some low points and not all of it was cohesive to the point where I’d give it that extra full album wow-experience point but nevertheless a great first full project to hear from them. Definitely a dope duo who play really well off each other sonically, great beat choices for the most part as well. Will probably listen to the first three volumes in my own time very soon.
