Hi Brendon, always enjoy seeing what music you pick up from the record shops, your collection just keeps growing, was looking forward to you checking out some very good 80's HM bands from Australia you might not have previously discovered. some you know like Mortal Sin have solid albums but there's lots more bands that are worth finding out about. keep up the good work..

Love “finds” videos. Appears that many used CDs now are sealed by the store. I don’t like that because I cannot inspect it. Where do you stand on that in general?
@HåkonOdinsson12 күн бұрын
Personally, if it was sealed, I would be expecting it to be scratch free on the disc, in other words, no damage at all
@Rock-Music-Discoveries12 күн бұрын
Great video Brendon and some nice CDs that you have picked up there. Sargent Fury have a 3CD box set on Divebomb Records with the albums Still Want More, Little Fish and Turn The Page. Cool band. Also glad you’re getting into Axxis - I have most of their albums. The older ones in jewel cases but many of the newer ones I have are in the DigiPak packaging.

I was a fan of Axel Rudi Pell but after a few albums I realised that every album is identical in style and pacing. The first one is still my favourite. I lost track of Gotthard after the singer, Steve Lee, died. Will have to revisit them. I love Edguy. Tobias just gets it. On the Avantasia albums he writes songs that suit the singers. He revitalised Geoff Tate. I loved HEAT with Erik Gronwall, just can't get into the other singer. I got the Thunderhead best of on your recommendation and really enjoyed it. Tony Mitchell lives locally to me. I actually saw them shooting the photo for the album sleeve for Kiss Of The Gypsy as I just happened to be in the place they were shooting. Didn't know who they were at the time but could see they were a band. Saw them live several times as they supported everyone back in the day. Chris Laney - that album is reallly good. He is an excellent producer too - he produced the excellent Crazy Lixx New Religion album. He was also involved in the Lockdown At The Movies songs and albums where they covered 80s and 90s film soundtrack songs.

Brendon such a fantastic holiday find. I have which I hope isn't too offensive for you, a question non the less, and no malice intended. But I have noticed on recent videos, that you are storing your cds on top of other cds flat, mainly I assume because you are running out of shelf space. My question is where will you store all the cds you purchase once the shelves can no longer harbour anymore? Its currently looking like your going to be in that situation very soon. I ask this question because I too have a habit of buying cds even though my house is full of them, and I constantly get lectured from my girlfriend, that what will I do when our house is full of cds and vinyls. But mostly cds. Can you please explain this as I need to know as we both seem in the same situation. Will you perhaps hire a lock up which might mean a walk or drive away from your property? When do we stop buying cds and need a cull on this? Oh and one final question, if you were stranded on an island with only 10 albums to play, what would they be?
@BrendonSnyder9 күн бұрын
Only 4,500 of my more than 13,000 CD collection is displayed on the shelves. The rest are stored as I always have which is in modified boxes that each hold 90 CDs and stack. I have walk-in closets with the boxes. As for Desert Island picks I made a video on this topic, see link kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWjMo6J5o7Snr6csi=hEYIDauTt8iLCQM7

As someone who hits up different music stores maybe you can answer a question. Do any of the stores you've visited still carry patches or buttons? There are barely any stores close by me and they don't have anything, miss being able to get stuff like that. I work with a seventeen year old metalhead and is bummed that everything seems to be online only these days. He is also a cassette junkie and recently bought an original walkman, the kid is such a rarity lol Thanks for the great content!!

I don’t get the digipak hate.
@BrendonSnyder12 күн бұрын
Because when they get beat up or damaged like if the plastic tray breaks, you have to replace the whole album. But with a jewel cases edition, if the case gets damaged or the tray breaks, I can just replace the jewel case and don’t have to buy the album again. Plus there is nostalgia for jewel cases. It’s how they were originally released. Digipaks popped up in the early 90’s. At first they were unique and kind of collectible, but now everyone does it and it’s lost its charm.
@jpcastrianni12 күн бұрын
@@BrendonSnyderYou don’t have to buy a new album. You can just place the CD in with the broken teeth. It’s not as secure, but that’s not really a big deal. You can always just put it in a jewel case. The digipak is closer to the LP package.
@BrendonSnyder12 күн бұрын
No I can’t. I’m a collector and like for everything to be perfect and pristine. Think of whatever it is that you’re super passionate about and image it scratched, damaged and broken….wouldn’t that make you mad and upset? You’d want to fix it right? Ok, that’s how a music collector feels about their albums.
