NCAA 2001 had create a team and all the Div 1AA teams (FCS). You could even play a season as those teams in some of their conferences. It also had a playoff option if you didn’t want to play in the bowls.

In NCAA 2001, RB #21 for the Hurricanes was actually half back James Jackson. McGahee wore #2 and didn't enter the Canes picture until 2002.

2:10 lol yes, Brady. With Anthony Thomas to the right of him. NCAA 99 - 2001 we're pretty much the best years ever made for college football games. Then there was '06, '10, '13, and '14. Another cool less known feature that the older games had; is if you played an exhibition game on a holiday like thanksgiving, christmas, New Year's, the announcers would recognize it and say happy thanksgiving, merry christmas, happy New Year everyone.

I remember for the later PS2 versions- if you took the time to type in your team's roster or if you just downloaded the roster onto the memory card...the announcers would actually say and announce the player name's after a big play. So it's like they weren't supposed to have anything to do with the player except for their number and stats since they are an NCAA student, but EA still went ahead and prerecorded all the big player names into the game which would unlock just by having their name type in.

Brought back so many memories. NCAA football 2002 was the first NCAA game I ever played, and believe it or not, I still have it to this day. NCAA 06 is my favorite football game of all time.

Biggest thing that always made me mad was when they took out the real FCS/AA schools when they went to the 360 and ps4 and you couldn’t use those schools in campus legend modes. I just used them in dynasty mode so it wasn’t that big of a deal.

The last couple iterations of this game (11-14 or so) still hold up as the absolute best sports video games of all time. Crazy thing is Kirk Ferentz coached Iowa in almost all of these seasons… go Hawks!!

NCAA Football 2005 was the first game to have FCS (1AA) rosters. I created all the FCS teams that wete not in the game like Lehigh, Lafayette, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Colgate, Georgetown, Fordham, Albany, Sacred Heart, Stony Brook, Davidson, Austin Peay, Morehead State, Drake, Butler, Valparaiso, Marist and Iona, Jacksonville, NC Central and Winston-Salem St., Savannah State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota, San Diego, UC Davis, Southern Utah, and some D2 and D3 powerhouses like Valdosta State, NW Missouri State, Grand Valley State, Mount Union, Wis-Whitewater, andseveral others.

Hopped on the NCAA football series in '07. Still miss being able to bench players for certain lengths of time as a disciplinary thing to be honest. Also miss being able to move Division II schools up to Division I, used to do that all the time with Missouri State and WIU. Edit: Thing I miss the most though has that mode that actually felt like a balancing act between classes to keep up the GPA, practices to get better, etc., instead of those microtransactions and kind of empty feeling 'bonuses'. "Huh, well okay, I just selected a boost for a game, gonna be a lot harder to take down against X team. Oh, there's another one I earned enough points to get that'll make me faster permanently. I can actually buy more of these?"

I love NCAA 11 more than anyone else it feels. I played that game from the day it came out until 2017-2018 when I had to upgrade to NCAA 14 because my disc stopped working. I miss that game. Might have to get a new copy online someday soon 😮💨
