Yeah, they may not be his wife, son and (in this case) daughter...but they're his family. The one thing he has wanted and missed throughout the game series. Sure he can't take on Bi-Han alone, we hardcore fans never doubt that. But why should he have to this time? After all, there always something new to be made from a new timeline in the MK universe that just deepens the character. Why not have a chance at a family once again? It doesn't have to interfere with his brotherhood with Kuai Liang, just means his family circle will be a little bigger this time around.

That Hanzo could never kill Bi-Han alone and needed his family's help AND THAT'S A BIG LIE It's a matter of honor, honor above all else Sub Zero should have been killed after being defeated in a one on one fight against Scorpion Now hardcore Sub Zero fans will claim that Bi-Han is superior in everything and that Hanzo would never beat him, THE RIVALRY BETWEEN SCORPION AND SUB ZERO WAS RUINED IN THE MOVIE! There must never be any meddling in a fight between rivals, this is between Scorpion and Sub Zero and between them only!

@@capitaojacksparrow2164 in my honest opinion that's something they could be considered a parallel in. Hanzo is a family man at heart and fights for his family. Bi-Han is a proud man who fights for himself and for his clan, but is ultimately motivated by his pride. He's fighting for himself essentially. Scorpion can fight Sub-Zero on his own as punishment for killing his family. But the fact Scorpion fought *with* his family is what makes them different. Bi-Han is a cold and lone warrior and fights on his own terms. Scorpion is a warm-hearted man when it comes to his family and will fight for and with his family. Scorpion's family is his strength. Individual strength can only get you so far. And I think giving Scorpion this family battle arc is a splendid way to make him feel redeemed for the loss of his wife and son. I just think this is a fresher take in Scorpion's portrayal than being another lone wolf. Because here, he has more to fight for than just his vengeance. He's fighting for the last family he has left and will protect them as if he was protecting Hiromi and Satoshi.

Oh. It's not out of character. He *does* know English, because English was made into a second language in Japan during the Edo period (where Scorpion is said to originate from in the movie) for diplomatic (and spying) purposes, but the writers are being realistic with the fact that Hanzo *would* be more comfortable speaking his native language. Bi-Han has been around English speakers for centuries and has adapted to speaking it more than any other language he knows, even his native language (helps that his mother was white too). Besides..."Get over here!" is much more to the point since Japan doesn't quite have the same phrase in their own langue. It's more of a "come here" then anything.

Bi Han lived his life in service, never living for himself. He did not wish to kill Scorpion's family, you could see that he actually was impressed by the boy's courage, but he had his orders and his clan molded him from infancy to always obey. The saddest part is that the death of Hanzo's family was probably the moment he was closest to rebelling, but he made his choice, the wrong choice, and was damned for it. Loyalty to those unworthy of it will never bring you salvation or redemption.

2:35 That look right there: "Yeah, you're definitely my descendant." Hiroyuki Sanada is in his sixties and is *STILL* kicking ass to this day! Couldn't have picked a better actor for Scorpion. And in a way I see this scene as Cole finally accepting his destiny; throughout the movie Raiden has been telling him he was chosen for a reason but he didn't really accept it. It wasn't until he fully accepted his power and his lineage that he was able to summon Scorpion and finish what the former started.

The only reason why Sub-zero won the first time is because Sub zero is not human and Scorpion was at the time. People forget that Sub zero belongs to a different race altogether and his linage comes from Outworld while Scorpion was born human. It’s obvious why Subzero had the advantage to begin with. Scorpion was always the better fighter and because of that Sub-zero used his freeze powers to end him, his wife and his son’s lives.

As cool as this scene was I put this movie in the same category as a queen of the damned. This could've been so much more than what it was. This should've been a sub zero mythologies movie. There's more to bi han than just him killing scorpion's family. And I don't even think it was him. Wasn't Quan chi the one who had scorpion's family killed and framed bi han? Which in turn led scorpion to killing bi han... Which led to the transformation into noob sabot? Cole, Jax, Kano, Sonya, goro, kung Lao, liu Kang, etc really didn't need to be in the movie. MK missed a great opportunity here. This could've been a much better film.

In the original timeline, Subzero killed Scorpion while Quan Chi killed his family, but in the "Current" timeline, Quan Chi did both, in the form of Subzero, leading Scorpion to think Bi Han did it.

In the original timeline, Sub-Zero killed Scorpion, the Lin Kuei killed his clan members and Quan Chi killed his family. In MK9 timeline, Quan Chi killed everyone. I think they had to paint Bi-Han as the supreme asshole here because he didn't lose anyone whereas Hanzo lost everyone he knew and his own life.

I don't care what anyone thinks about this movie, this whole ending sequence was the most hype scene from any piece of mortal Kombat Media. Tbh I think that Scorpions whole story (the beginning and his return here) was handled very well, despite the meh that some other parts of this movie are.

Hadoukan! Sub Zero was so strong he needed two of them to gang up on him. When they did their fat combo and subzero landed on his knees I was like its like a video game combo, then I was like damn he still alive? And Scorpion was like I'll take him on solo now, lol. Then after he burned his face did he cut his head off to make sure he was dead?
