Was very happy to be back m8, although I think the weapon is too much weapon for the roads in the UK. Was strange as I rode much slower as usual, but didn't feel the need to ride fast, maybe Was still getting used to it, or probably just taken back by the experience of it all. Don't think I'll have any speeding tickets in the post🤣🤣

@@thelikeablerider8800 We went to Lake District, Gretna Green, through Greenock to Glasgow, boat trip on Loch Lomond, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness for boat trip on Loch Ness, down to Falkirk to the Falkirk Wheel the back home. Had 3 lovely sunny days, 1 rain and rest ok, It’s lovely if you get nice weather.

@@thelikeablerider8800 Ouch that's not a pleasant experience 😂 I just bought the GT Air 2 and even though it fits me perfect I find it a bit turbulent when moving my head to the side. The wind really grabs on the helmet compared to my HJC Rpha 11 that I was using before..

Great viewpoint and perhaps rather than my usual (last 10 years) instead of 'chasing the map' across europe (Norway still the best to visit on two wheels) I should really visit my own country! Devon is my home now, Essex escapee many years ago, but I look forward to seeing more of your visitor perspective and maybe adding your itinerary for next years travels? Those 4 or 5k miles each trip would certainly give me plenty local places to see and not the 2000 miles going through countries via motorways just to 'get somewhere' as I have done before, thanks for posting. Looking forward to the rest of your vacation. As a fellow BMW (R1200RS owner) it is nice to see your speedo showing 2mph less than the satnav is the same as mine, funny how many times I pass slower vehicles in speed restriction when keeping the correct speed via cruise control.

Great blog, love the scenery. I sympathise with the pain in the backside! I have just returned from a long tour and know exactly how you felt. When you get the pain looking at your bike you know you have done a lot of miles. Is the seat on your s1000xr hard?

The problem with the XR seat is that you can't move about on it, it has a very neutral seating position. Initially it feels comfortable, but on longer runs it's a real battle.

Love the Lakes, some amazing roads there. Better still its only 1 1/2 hours away from me. Pity you didn't have time to check out some of the passes:- Whinlatter, Honister, Wrynose, Hardknott and Kirkstone, some of the best biking roads and stunning scenery available in the Lakes. Wrynose and Hardknott are known for being tricky, seen a few bikes go shiny side down. I recognise the ride in towards the Lakes, stopped for photos a few times at the gravel parking spot, must have gone in via Richmond and Wensleydale. Some good footage in this video, especially knowing where it was, although must be hard picking which bits to show as theres some epic scenery.

I used the Hull - Europort regularly when I was based in Holland. The trick with the bed is to double up on the mattresses from the spare bunk, together with making good use of the many bars 🍺🍺 never had a bad nights sleep 💤🛌 🤪 Enjoyed that, looking forward to next vid 👍

Good afternoon Tomboy_a_bit. Never rode that section but looks well worth it. Watching your vid brought many happy memories back of our trips to Scotland to visit our mate John in the 1980s and 1990s. Many times in summer them sky's were there and of course cold fingers to-boot! To this day I still regret being talked into swimming in Lock Ness. One degree colder and I swear my go-nads would have gone back to where they came from. So as a typical southerner that bottled it, I had to get the frying pan on and it was egg and bacon rolls all round. But always worth it especially when in good company. Do I miss them days, hell yes! Thanks for taking us along with you. So till next time happy enjoyable cruising girl 👍😊.

Welcome back home A long days ride, takes me back to a couple of full on get me home rides I did on my tiger 900 RallyPro, the first was Munich to Rushden (Northamptonshire) 800+ miles, which took 15 hours and the other one was Odense (Denmark) to Rushden, similar mileage but 19 hours, stopped for some lunch on hat one 😂

Daft question how is the insta 360 fixed to the XR I’ve got the same bike. WHO’s mirror extenders are you using and do they keep the mirrors stable, I’ve got the evotec ones and they vibrate like crazy

The camera is fixed to the bike using mounts from RAM! Have attached a ballpoint to the base of the mirror stem, and then to two RAM arms, which you can see. Mirror extensions are from SWMOTECH, the left one still vibrates but only minimal, the right one is perfect👍😜

Yeah I use an external sound recorder, I can control it via an app via Bluetooth, and like you said, sync the audio to video later on in post👍😜

@markrowley5497 I still use a wired mic with the Zoom F2 BT, and zoom have their own App to control it. Think you might have issues with wireless, as it bound to conflict with other Bluetooth connections that you may or may not have.

enjoy the A82 chicane with road works along the route from Fort William to Inverness and then there is the North Coast A 836 road dug up along several stretches by broadband company's who's idea of a fill in is a bit of tarmac and tons of very loose gravel which eventually gets into three strips along the route. Broadband company's have been given free reign to dig up the roads instead of laying their cables along the sides buried in the verges because it is easier for them.

That sounds rubbish, luckily I bunged a left at Fort William! Here in Germany they've laid the cables under the footpaths or in the verges, the road remain untouched.

I,m in a similar situation to you ,in that I was born in New Zealand and left it to come to the UK when I was barely out of my teens.I go back for long breaks every now and then ,and I'm more relaxed there. ..but always happy to get home to Scotland ..no wrong side of the road probs ,or nasty stone walls to hit like here though ,just fire off into a ditch or farmers paddock ..hopefully no barbed wire fence

That's what I thought, he/she made a bit of a late dash to turn right! I definitely found it very different, in general very narrow, rubbish visibility, not great road surface condition, but I was expecting all that, it wasn't as if it came as a surprise! Still really enjoyed the experience, just rode slower than I normally would.

Experiencing the "joys" of all the hedgerow lined roads. If you were down south you'd also have 10 times the amount of traffic. It's why we go abroad to tour! 😁. Advanced riding lines are an absolute must to make progress and stay safe. 👍. Looking forward to watching the rest of the tour.

Rding is not as relaxing in the uk. when I cross the channel its like a weight of your shoulders , tho Germany has its fair share of traffic but better roads on the wholes .

Definitely felt that on the first couple days, but things chilled out after that. Strangely I rode a lot slower than I normally would, and didn't really feel the need to ride quick.

@@thelikeablerider8800 it’s getting used to riding on the other side of the road long way from home . It’s Empty Traveling across France . Took the KTM SD earlier this year . air started getting into the hydraulic clutch . Caused clutch dragging think you had similar problems. So far that all that gone wrong . Never taken my bike to the Yorkshire dales or Scotland was on my list this year but weather been horrible.
