What i like best about your channel is the reality of it it isn't all 5 star hotels and 20k trips you talk about cheap hotels.messing up and having to pin the ears back to get to your next destination and just slamming a coffee and a sandwich before hitting the road again.but these a things all us average joes have been through and will go through as on our next one it is all part of the adventure and refreshing to watch

100%, these adventures are so relevant to most riders. I don’t mind videos of riders spending 3 weeks on a new Goldwing touring the Alps, but will never be in reach for many people. Keep up the top work Freddie, it’s doing the UK much needed justice

I was born in Yorkshire, growing up my Dad would always say when people ask you were you’re from he would say I was born in Yorkshire. He was such a proud Yorkshireman, I ended up joint the Army way back in 1986 and served in the Prince of Wales own Regiment of Yorkshire. Such a special place in England. I now live in Canada but miss Yorkshire dearly.

This was amazing as usual! What I liked the most: The first accomodation. You almost ran out of gas despite riding a modern machine equipped with self-cancelling indicators, but not self-filling fuel tank. The places you stopped by were awesome. Riding in wet weather is a totally different experience. When you approached the rundown fuel pump and discovered one of your favourite cars in the workshop. In your final speech, the two copper plates on the wall aligned in such a way that you looked like Mickey Mouse. The tea set at the end.

Where you were at Kettlewell, you were about 4 miles from the start of one of the very best roads up there - through Hawkswick towards Halton Gill and through to Stainforth. Admittedly it's better from the Stainforth end going dowhill rather than up, but it's bloody glorious and beats the Buttertubs by miles if you ask me.

Many years ago (80's/90's) I would ride my MZ250 from Portsmouth to Edinburgh to see my Dad. I got caught in a fog (haar) several times. The last time, i could see nothing at all except maybe 20ft. All of a sudden a petrol pump went by my left shoulder. Unintentionally, i had managed to ride through a petrol station forecourt, in one side and out the next. How i did not hit anything, God only knows. I'm still riding, but now i'm Canada 28 years. MZ long gone, but I have fond memories of that strange old bike.

A great shame about the weather Freddie, you missed some of the finest scenery in the North of England with the blanket mist, especially on The Buttertubs Pass ( The story goes that as farmers rested at the top of the climb on a hot day - on route to the market in Hawes -they would lower the butter they had produced for sale into the potholes to keep it cool.) A great time to tour The Dales off season, to avoid the summer tourists. Thankfully the weather is not always like that.

Great video Freddie, I rode a motorcycle every day for 34 years didn't own a car. Didn't learn to drive a car till I was 27 when I moved to the states...no public transport, drove the car for two weeks and then brought a transalp. I posted the other day I sold it for more than I paid. I don't ride in the winter any more they put down to much salt up here in the mtn's and I have some really nice bikes...Thruxton 1200R is my favorite it's British racing green there is only 100 in the states and I scored a 2019 for $300 over dealer cost.

Another wonderful video Freddie. I live in York and am lucky to have the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, and Howardian Hills on my doorstep. I frequently take my Aprilia Tuareg on these same roads. At 7:54 on the video, you are parked outside Yockenthwaite Farm in Langstrothdale, which is the filming location for Helen's farm 'Heston Grange' on All Creatures Great and Small. The road past the farm is one of my favorites in the Dales and I much prefer it to Buttertubs Pass. Don't get me wrong, Buttertubs is a great road but I think there are more picturesque roads in the Dales.

Thanks for your videos. You make it all so accessible to the viewer - meaning I can easily see myself riding those roads, eating where you eat, staying where you stay even though I'm halfway around the world in Texas. I like that the music is contemplative in nature and not intrusive, and that you let the camera "do the talking" showing the villages and country views without excessive talk. I would never go out to ride in those conditions, especially getting caught out after dark in the cold and wet, and I hope you will not do that going forward. Good safe riding, Freddie. I eagerly await the next Yorkshire video and hope for better weather.

WRT fuel, and not knowing. The beauty with motorbikes is that in most cases, you can physically check the fuel tank to see how much is sloshing around in there, by just opening the filler cap, and have a little look, visually. Sometimes, the most obvious solution is the last considered. (I learned this the hard way, shamefully on more than one occasion) great series so far Fred! Love the the Yorkshire dale's!

Wonderful roads, very few cars, the promise/hint of amazing scenery just beyond the fog/mist and the lovely hospitality of the north! The low-fuel-in-the-middle-of-nowhere thing also hit close to home! Happened to me in Scotland in September in very sparsely populated area I didn't know, and drove around for over an hour in second gear trying to reach the only hope of petrol! Made it and what a joyous feeling that was! The joys, the emotional rollercoaster that is biking!

A quad lock is ok for a second device but as you just found out you cannot rely on a phone when touring a proper sat nav is essential

No one can call you a fair weather rider. If I wore a hat I would take it of to you sir. I was in a similar situation a few years back in the Picos. Rain, fog, dark, single lane mountain roads, could not see past front wheel, looking for Huts, Barns anywhere to stop, scariest ride ever. Keep up the good work.

I rode that route last summer, and did the same thing with fuel! It looks stunning in winter as well, enjoy.

Great video Freddie, it’s nice up north aint it? I used to live down south and moved up to North Yorkshire to work as a paramedic, I have a lovely farmhouse Airbnb between the dales and the moors. I never take it for granted how lucky I am to be able to ride my Tiger 900 over those wonderful roads. Come up in the summer, it’s absolutely stunning. If you come up again then try the George inn at Hubberholme in wharfedale.

I’ve watched a couple of your road trip videos and there seems to be two common denominators, lack of preparation, and the quest for food! Both of which must increase your stress levels but for a viewer makes for some really entertaining videos! Love your attitude towards bikes and life itself, keep it up because what you do is really valuable.

Good video Freddie. Ya got to love the fact that you rode the most beautiful road on England in heavy rain and fog. But that’s what makes your channel so dam fun. I got to tell ya, the Transalp is just kinda awesome. I don’t know if it’s because it looks like an old classic bike from the 80’s, the ones that I remember as a kid. Or the cool gold rims. I am not an adv guy by any means. But if I was. A set of soft bags and a Transalp would be what I’d be getting .
