I've never been so impressed by the way you fitted that new part , how you cut that out and fitted it perfectly just blows my mind . I would bet that not many fabricators could get that so well. No wonder I'm addicted to the channel!!!

Just wondering how this is economically viable for the machine owner, pair of tradesmen 1 & 1/2 full days work, plus parts, plus 12 hours of their travelling time? It’s a lovely repair but seems crazy to me. Maybe I’m missing something Baz?

I wasn't expecting a 330 mile trip in the UK to be only 5.5 hours. I would have guesses it would take a lot longer because I always picture UK motorways as congested, but my perception is based on having lived in London. Then I heard you say it took 6.5 hours.

An interesting installment young man. A long trip that one so yeah, you need a trustworthy customer for a trip like that. I don't have any customers in the plant business that pay upfront, one pays on the day after inspecting the completed work and others pay on 7-14 days. Occassionally I have to nag to get paid. I doubt many if any will pay upfront to a new contractor. However, if you already know the customer or they agree to those terms prior then you have dropped lucky
