Scotland's Eilish McColgan claims Gold medal in 10,000m at Commonwealth Games 2022

Scotland's Eilish McColgan claimed gold in the women's 10,000m title in the athletics at the Commonwealth Games - 36 years after her mother.
It was Scotland's first track title since Yvonne Murray won the same event in 1994.
"It's just been such an up and down year with Covid, another illness and a couple of other niggles," Eilish said.
"I couldn't have asked for anything more to have my family here, it was vibrating through my body."

I remember watching her mother Liz many moons ago. To see Eilish dig deep to put herself in that position coming off the bend made me stand up and start shouting at the TV.... GO ON GIRL.. GO ON GIRL !! when she crossed the line I was in tears. The when she ran to her mother... It just made the hole thing so perfect. Thanks for posting.

Yep i remember her too, Liz Lynch. Quite a brilliant athlete. I also remember her getting married, and giving birth to Eilish, A truly wonderful story, i am English, and was there that night at the commonwealth games, i sang the flower of Scotland, and i even shed a tear.
