Callum the stag, I was luck to talk to the man that feeds him. He has no front teeth so finds it difficult to chew grass, this man has been feeding him for 7 years wen he first came across him he was very thin and weak but with time he regained his strength but still needs feeding because he still has no front teeth.

Thanks for watching! No I don't live in Scotland, I was on holiday and taking a road trip around the North Coast 500. It was an incredible journey! Glad you enjoyed the video!!

We drove this road last week and it was much more scary than your video! The cloud was down, the rain horizontal , the road was busy with camper vans and other tourists and an aggressive local drove past a passing pass such that we had to reverse! We were very relieved to arrive at a warm welcome and great food at Applecross Inn.
@MattWhitingsEurope3 жыл бұрын
Hi Isabel, that's crazy - sounds like you got caught right in the middle of a storm! Shame about your experience with the camper vans and the rude local, I understand the NC500 route has been really popular this year and there is a lot more traffic than when I drove it. That's no excuse for bad manners though. I can see the difficulty a lot of large vehicles would have navigating the route but it is being promoted by the Scottish Tourist Board so it's no surprise more people are driving it. I bet it felt good to arrive at the Applecross Inn, especially under those circumstances. Thanks for watching!

@MattWhitingsEurope3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for following along and watching the videos Christine! It was a fun trip and I was taken aback by just how much there is to see on the North Coast 500. I actually took this road trip in September last year in between all the lock downs, it was great to get out. Are you thinking of giving it a go?

@@MattWhitingsEurope I live in Canada. I would love to visit Scotland again someday, especially the Highlands since I haven’t been to yet. And no, I don’t think I’ll be driving over there. I’m not brave enough to drive on the other side of the road, much more so on a one-track road. Thanks for the videos; they make me feel like I’m on holidays. Awesome work❤️

Another great video Matt, It's sad that the series is coming to an end☹️. I have really enjoyed your travels in Scotland. And the drone clips are amazing. I now have invested in a mavic air 2. To take on the trip next year. 👌😁
@MattWhitingsEurope3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sticking with me and watching the entire series, driving the North Coast 500 has been the perfect way to see Scotland! Glad you like the drone shots, I always think they add a sense of perspective to the finished video. I've heard lots about the Mavic Air 2, looks like a great little drone. The battery life and range are insane! 4K at 50 fps would be useful as I'd like to experiment with a few 4K videos. I'm sure it will work wonders over the Scottish Highlands!

Hi Matt, Breth takeing Scenery, and love the up and close Stag meeting. They really are lovely Animals. Your drone footage really helps us appreciate the surroundings. Nice bit of scran in the car..😉. Nice basic hotel room, good price. And that winding road looks a good challenge. Looking forward to you final video. I've loved the whole series ❤. Hope your well? Grant.

Thanks Grant, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos of my NC500 road trip - it was a wonderful driving it! Yes meeting the stag was something I really didn't expect, in fact when I saw it in the car park from a distance I thought it was a statue 😀. Just think, you'll be driving that road soon, hope you've got your road positioning off to a tee - it's quite a challenge but worth it for the views! I'm all good at the moment thank you Sir, how's things with you?

@@MattWhitingsEurope we are ok thankyou sir, just had my 2nd Covid Jab, so fully Covered.. Yeah I'm confident on the road, my wife and daughter mite be a bite nervous on the hairpin bends though..😄. Weve a bit of interest in the South West, Dumfries/Galloway area at moment. Even looked at houses and jobs around there. My Cuzin is Moveing to Creetown in a few days from W-Yorks, there plans have finally arrived. It would be great area to live, Coast and Surroundings, not too far from the Lakes, and Northumberland, Yorkshire Dales, and here near Leeds. But Closer for a Highland trip!! 😉.
@MattWhitingsEurope3 жыл бұрын
Yes that sounds like a great area of the country to live in with so many incredible places to visit nearby, hope the house and job work out for you (if you can find any that suit you). There's certainly lots to see in Northern England with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and of course the Lakes - lovely part of the country. And as you say, the Highlands of Scotland a bit closer than they were! Glad you've had your second Covid jab, I've had my first one so making some good progress. Hopefully things will open back up fully for the summer but we will see, it's still quite a difficult time with the variants and all. Happy house hunting!

@@MattWhitingsEuropeShieldaig with ending as in vague. Hope that helps! On the subject of pronunciation the ending of Bealach should always be a soft ch sound as in Loch, never a ck sound. I enjoyed the footage though.
