If you know the NC mountains, you know. The Scots are there and she was a Scot when she turned to me and asked. I was thrilled as I am also Scot. She and I lasted 60 plus years. I miss her. I laid her to rest deep in the Sourthern Highlands of the Great Smokies of NC. Her daughters, as I , loved her, an American Scot.

"Simple Gifts" is a Shaker dance composed by Elder Joseph Brackett in 1848 while at the Shaker Covenant in Alfred, Maine. Most persons know the tune from Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring."

I suppose a lot of what we do for fun is farcical - all work and no play makes Jack, some say, but there ought to be more to life than that. People go out on the weekend and chase golf balls or tennis balls or baseballs around, or shoot holes in paper targets that we can't eat - just for fun. If I recall correctly, the violinist with Celtic Woman does a little dancing along with the playing, and lots of people like to watch them. As the old song says, we just want to have fun. :-)

I would reallyx2 love to see her play with Celtic Woman of Ireland...even once, - now that Mairead Nesbitt has left a huge gap in their lineup, - taking nothing away from the present violinist of course, only that the energy of that impish Lindsey, brings to mind the presence of Mairead as she once skittles and dances with her indormitable violin, all over the stage!
