@jayjayfrmstatefarm9363
@jayjayfrmstatefarm9363 30 минут бұрын
@@michaelcassara2880 not comparing anything. Simply stating Pete thought he would get a bigger contract than Nimmo. Boras negotiated Nimmo contract, Pete turns down 158M then hires Boras. That isn’t a coincidence. At the time Nimmo got his contract he was never an all star, never hit 20 HRs in a season, never drove in 70 RBIs in a season. Pete undoubtedly thought he would do better than Nimmo 162M in free agency. Pete should have took the extension, he got way too greedy now is paying the price big time. Can’t say “I want to be a Met” then turn down every single contract offer holding out for more money. This is entirely on Pete, which sucks for him.

You've pretty much summed up my thoughts exactly. And it's only a matter of time (and careers) that the Boras Group collapses. Scott Boras is driven entirely by greed.

You did acknowledge that Pete is not innocent in all of this but I still think you're giving him too much of a pass on this one. It is the agent's job to advise the client but at the end of the day, Scott Boras works for Pete Alonso, not the other way around. It may have have blown up in his face at times but Boras has made a living out of these negotiation tactics. Everyone knows he uses these tactics, we as fans know he is going to use these tactics so Pete and anyone who chooses to use him for representation should damn well know that he's going to use these tactics. If Pete truly wants to be with the Mets, he needs to take ownership of this situation it is long long long past due.

It goes without saying that Alonzo did not even come close to playing up to his presumed potential. During the season, I sensed that there was something about his situation that made me think he had something more going on either physically, emotionally, or things like that. At this point I think Alonso/Boras should look to see if the Mets would give him 1 year at 32million. No referrals. That would set the record for 1B AAV and let’s Alonso hit the market next year with no QO offer attached.

They just gotta add one of Bregman, Vlad, or Santander for now and I'll be satisfied with the offense going into the season.

The Jays should go get both Santander and Alonso and go for it in 2025 before Vladdy and Bo go FA next year. These two can add a total of 80 or so hrs. And they can be had for relatively short term deals.

Plain and simple Owners are tired of Boras. The reality is that Boras did absolutely nothing for Soto. Soto would have gotten tons of money without Boras and that’s a fact. Now he wants to over sell Pete. I love for Pete to stay a lifelong Mets but he has to be realistic of his worth, Pete doesn’t carried the team on his back.

Read Mets willing to go 7 years 158 Million 🤔 😳 😮 Take the damn deal! At age 33 Pete will be batting .200 with 15 Homeruns so no 10 year deals!! 🙄 🤦‍♂ If Mets are willing to go all the way to 7 years take the effing DEAL!!! Tops I would give Pete was 5 years!!!!

Pete schould see if he can get a 3 year deal around 24 million a year with incentives. Like 1 million for forty homers,amillion for 100 rbis, a million if he hits 270 or better or a million for mvp.

He's not declining! WTF where do you people get this from go look at his career numbers and it will prove it! In 23 he 46 f'n HR's and 100+ RBI then in a contract year he didn't have a great year but still hit over 30 HR's and if it weren't for him hitting that HR in Milwaukee the Mets would have been knocked out of the playoffs in the WC round so again stop with this f'n "declining player" bs!!! 😡 He plays everyday he's at his locker talking to the media weather it was a good or bad game he's accountable he does produce year after year other than BA he's proven in NY and WANTS to be in NY as a Met for life come on the man rolled his damn truck and still showed up a couple hours later ready and wanting to play! He's been hit in the head multiple times and does he come out of the game? No he doesn't he stays in comes up and hits a HR and everyone cheers including you so again stop with this I mean what else does the guy have to do to get a contract that's fair for everything he has done for this team and brings to this team. He wants to be paid accordingly he wants himself and his family to be financially set and have the security of the Lt contract in NY for the rest of his career and that he has absolutely earned! Is he letting Boris screw him over? ABSOLUTELY!! But that's because he's doing what he's supposed to do and that's listen to and do what the agent says but at some point Pete has to say enough is enough and step in and until that happens we will all be having this argument over and over 🤮

Pete has put himself in a very tight spot There is no 5 or 4 year deals Probably now a 3yr deal $65-75mil thats if Stearns offer it to him

It's a clear case of market demand. No team is willing to pay Pete Alonso what he and Boras wants. Pete can be back with the Mets tomorrow if he lowers his expectations. You can blame Boras but Pete has not received a single offer. Why in the world would David Sterns up his offer, for what ever it is, if no other offer is on the table?
