I had recently changed the bb on my cube c68 litening with the pf41 gxp bb from c-bear. I did it as stated on their website, with a bit of antiseize paste, it got pressed in hard, and with loud clunks as the press went tighter( I’m by no means an expert, but after seeing that on all the videos that I watched the bearings went in easily when using the correct tool, that got me thinking) I did over 1000km with no problems so far, because I did pressed all the way. The bike’s bb shell is carbon, as on the foil... thank you for this video, it will help me if in need to change the bb bearings.

Great video, i love the look of the foil, super nice and still clean. i dont like to knock bearings out of a frame, im to scared to break something, im using a unior "bb90 removal tool" it comes with 24 and 22mm extractor and one model for 30mm as well. luckily i havnt had any problems with a bb being that stuck i think, but with bb90 i had to use loctite because the bearing had been wearing down the frame when it had been moving in the frame.

Hi Ronald! I have a custom Trek Domane with the BB90 bottom bracket. I’ve started doing the bearing changes myself but I hate the plastic cover. In one of your videos you had a shop build you another solution. Can you share the spec and exactly what you had built and if it works good? Thank you very much.

As a 2016 Foil 10 frame owner, this is really good to know and I'll keep an eye out for this when it comes time to service my BB. One other question for you or others who may know this: When I put my crankset back onto my bike after swapping chainrings, I often get a nasty clicking sound at some point shortly after reassembling. It usually goes away after the first 1-1.5hrs of riding. Any idea what could be causing this? Is my preload set too tight or not tight enough? Crankset is R9100 + Kogel cross seals BB. The non-drive side bearings also don't feel as smooth as the drive side ones.
@jorgemedeiros82924 жыл бұрын
I have a 2018 Scott foil 20 disc, having a clunk when riding, I'm pretty sure is the BB, I already order one original shimano bb72 41b, which a saw your video before, hood to have in mind. Thanks.

Should just use a Sram gxp press fit. Plastic cups allow for the tol. variation. Alu cups don't. If they're oversized it can really damage the frame and put extra hoop stress in the carbon BB shell
@ronykuba6 жыл бұрын
That's even worse in terms of creaking
@norevlimitr16026 жыл бұрын
I actually just purchased a Willier Cento 10 Air Disc frameset, the only thing holding back my build is what BB to use. The frame has a BB86 (41mm) and I will be using a 30mm SRAM crank. The bearing will be super low profile and I am worried about stiffness and or creaking and durability. Debating between Kogel or BB-infinite..
@ronykuba6 жыл бұрын
It's not an ideal solution. I would choose Kogel with cross seals.
@norevlimitr16026 жыл бұрын

Quick Idea for a video: Those interested in your videos are probably inclined to do their own wrenching. This basically means that one is less dependent on bike-shops. So what do you think about direct-to-consumer companies like Canyon, Rose etc. Are the bikes as good as the "normal" brands? Maybe even better value? Or do we still owe it to the shops to support them and buy everything there?
